AIDS alert draws criticism
NY Newsday ^ | 2/13/05 | Kathleen Kerr

At a Friday news conference, city health officials said the case marked their first encounter with the strain. The man, who tested positive for HIV in December and is now sick with AIDS, had used the recreational drug crystal methamphetamine and had unprotected anal sex with multiple male partners. He had not responded to three of the four classes of AIDS drugs.

Just one case "was not enough to warrant a public health alert," Gallo said in an interview from his Maryland home. "It's irresponsible and outrageous," he said. "We've already heard past claims about superviruses that all turn out to be nonsense. From the science, I would say the probability is very high that you won't see this virus again.

I wonder if Dr. Gallo will take back his words if he's wrong.

Yeah, its not as if there are any other meth users out there that are having unprotected anal sex with multiple male partners. He was probably the only one.

Well, with that kind of support from Dr. Gallo, I'm sure there won't be many carriers of that particular virus around very long, eh?!

One more disenfranchised Dem voter for '08.

Gallo and the homosexual lobby, IMO, would go back to their playbook and blame Bush like they blamed Reagan.

I would say the probability is very high that you won't see this virus again.

Unless of course the multiple male partners that this guy was having unprotected anal sex with should pass the virus on to the multiple male partners that they were having unprotected anal sex with, and they pass it on to their partners, and so on, and so on ...

In about a month several thousand will have been exposed.

And then flood the media with hand-wringing PSAs warning how anyone, any where at any age can be effected, and have concerts, and quilts, and made-for TV movies and requests -- nay! the demand -- for $$$$ for research. And woe be to those who don't immediately jump on the band-wagon!

But the American people aren't the same people they were in 1989.

said Ben Ryan, a health columnist for www.gay.com. "But just because one guy developed AIDS really quickly doesn't mean that other people will die too."
Don't worry about a thing
Cause every little thing is gonna be alright

'Whistling through the graveyard' or, in this case, the public toilet.

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Translation:
Must make a damage control statement and spin the truth because the homosexuals will be seen as the real culprits they are instead of the victims we need them to be.

"was not enough to warrant a public health alert," Gallo said in an interview from his Maryland home.

This guy Gallo has been wrong before. At the onset of GRID, I seem to remember this bozo saying that this was "everyone's disease" and not to be associated with vicious anal sex and drug use. Here we are today with health officials again trying to warn the male homosexual community about the horrible risk of unprotected buggery and drug use, and Gallo is again saying "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."

And do not forget, have a major sports star announce he has this new HIV (even though he has not shown any effects of it 12 years after the announcement) just to show (i.e. get into their wallets) that ANYBODY can get it.
