If that's your funniest story, don't quit your day job.

LOL I think he thought the frying pan was special because it was so huge. He had never seen one like it before so he thought that I would be just as impressed by it as he was.

Okay, here's my unsolicited but impeccable wisdom:

Any amount spent beyond what is needed to get laid is wasted.

I hear you. A few years back I had been going through my place trying to clean things out when I came across a little stack of elementary school Valentine's cards I had kept for some reason. Reading them with "older eyes" it struck me how although the cards themselves were pretty sappy, the way they were signed held such a sense of childlike love and innocence. Needless to say, instead of putting them in the trash pile, I decided to hold onto them a little longer. :-)

We can be just as fascinated by bright, shiny objects. Especially if they have diamonds hanging from them. ;-)

You're right. He was surprised that I bought it for him and he is enjoying it. I suppose I'll just have to get used to hearing "Huh?" from him for the next few days.

I've been married for 18 years now, so I'm paying on the installment plan.

"I've been married for 18 years now, so I'm paying on the installment plan."

Good answer. Does your wife bring in income to your household?

Yes, they are definitely easier to please than we are. And if you give them something with a motor and moving parts you can leave the country and they'll never notice that you're gone.

LOL

I just met a young lady and our first phone conversation was long and wonderful. Her first email to me a few days later asked me if I was dumping her since I didn't call her again the next night. (Dumping? We hadn't dated yet.)

I explained that I was busy and had to work hard to get all my work done before going to CPAC.

She understood and responded by asking me to ask her for our first date for this weekend -- Valentine's Day.

I have avoided her proposition email and her since. The last thing that I want is a first date on Valentine's Day or someone that pushy.

Yes, and now that I'm self employed with a payroll, she has started taking home than me for the first time. Not sure yet how that will affect the allocation of gift-giving responsibilities.
