Has the entire public school system in this country gone completely insane? How many articles of this level of nonsense been posted just in the past couple of weeks? Does anyone even remotely care about the psychological damage being done to these young children by these lunatic adults who are 'in authority'? When or when are we going to take back the schools from these complete morons?

I told you this would happen if we let the government start a War on Dirt.

It's time to find a different way to fund public schools. End annual property taxes and fund these idiots teachers some other way.

I think the little girl found a bag of marijuana on the playground. She added rocks and clover to it. Then she gave it to her friend as a gift.
I think the school is covering up that drugs were on the playground.
Probably the recess teacher dropped her dime bag.

I got the impression that Michaela was saying the only drug she knows about are cigarettes. They told her they thought she was giving her friend drugs and she thinks about this. She's heard that cigarettes are drugs. That's all she sees (regularly). I don't think this necessarily means she sees cigarettes in the bag. I think she'd say "saw" if that were the case.

It was a satire on the Democratic Party, and they're real sensitive about that. Hence the punishment.

Well, you have me beat by a few years - New Madrid County schools from 1960-'72.
I thought that Matthews was part of NMC school district?

They tell Heartland News teachers confused a hand-gathered gift of nature's goodies with a bag of marijuana. Only a pothead would think a bag of dirt from a 6-year old, was an ounce of Thai stick.

...What is wrong with these people???????...
They fried their brains on dirt and clover long ago.

Oh the horror stories I could tell this mother. She needs to fight this. Don't let it remain on the child's record. It can come back to bite you.I have to know: how is getting two days of detention in first grade going to result in a horror story/come back to bite her?
Of this is a stupid, malicous thing for the school to do. I just hoinestly don't understand what danger is posed by a small demerit on a first grader's "permanent record."
