"5 ft 1 inch"

You have to be kidding me. There are comments in the Bible which say Jesus had a commanding posture - which would indicate HE was quite tall and well built. There is no evidence to support their claim.

Nonsense! Having a commanding posture is quite independent from height. Comments like that say nothing one way or the other. It has more to do with bearing and the way one holds oneself. There are plenty of well-muscled near-giants who need not open their mouths before you realise they're not natural leaders, while history records many short individuals who nonetheless radiated commanding authority and power with their every movement. Several of the key nomadic warleaders such as Temuchin or Timurlane, not to mention our own more recent Napoleion would tend to indicate that command is not a function of height.

Otherwise professional basketballers would rule the world.

Well, the article is a typical media's exaggeration. All the scientists did was depict what a typical Judean would have looked like -- there may have been no one who looked like that, they just took the most common features. Similarly, imagine if in the future they try to portray what an average American in our time looked like -- it wouldnt' look like any of us I'd bet!

quite tall and well built.

I'd imagine the years of carpentry would have built up his arms and shoulders more than the "swimmer's body" he's sometimes portrayed with.

First place, the article said ( and I saw this on a TV show ) they said they started out with a Israeli skull ( BOGUS !!!! BIG TIME )
it's nothing but a politically correct Jesus.
Jesus rose again from the dead, and his bones with him, so ? they could have never had a accurate forensic skull of Jesus to work with.
Jesus had long hair, because Jesus was a NAZARENE , and NAZARENES took a Nazarene oath.
If anything ? this is the liberal/ worldly view of Jesus.
If anything ? I do believe that the Shroud was the Shroud of Christ, and the painting of Jesus from the Shroud to be the closest we can come to what Jesus actually looked like.
