excerpt:
TERENCE SMITH: CNN chief news executive Eason Jordan became part of the news himself in recent days when he revealed that he withheld information about how Saddam Hussein's regime had intimidated and tortured Iraqis who had helped the Cable News Network over the years. Jordan made his comments in an op-ed piece in the New York Times last week, two days after the fall of Baghdad. He revealed on his own network Thursday night that other CNN staffers were targeted by the Iraqi government, in particular by Saddam Hussein's information minister.
I don't think I need to make an editorial comment about the likes of Eason Jordan. It speaks for itself.
I've already started my wine for the weekend up here in cloudy Nor Cal......
Drudge scooped again!
Nothing on his front page on this.
Karl Rove again..LOL!

Over at NRO's Corner Ramesh Ponnuru says he's hearing that Eason Jordan has resigned.
UPDATE by HINDROCKET: It's official. The AP is reporting that Jordan is out:
Jordan said he was quitting to avoid CNN being "unfairly tarnished" by the controversy.
"I never meant to imply U.S. forces acted with ill intent when U.S. forces accidentally killed journalists, and I apologize to anyone who thought I said or believed otherwise," Jordan said in a memo to fellow staff members at CNN.
The AP can't resist getting this part of the story wrong:
But the damage had been done, compounded by the fact that no transcript of his actual remarks has turned up.
Actually, of course, the videotape "turned up," but the Davos folks decided to keep it under wraps, apparently in an effort to help Jordan. Jordan's problem wasn't confusion about what he said; his problem was CNN's inability to create confusion about what he said.
You may not have heard it here first, but you did hear it here. On February 7, I wrote: "This story is playing out in excruciatingly slow motion, but the ending has already been written: Eason Jordan is finished."
Oh yes, and Crissy Matthews.....please....
Keef's main worry these days is that Ann Coulter will kick his ass.
No kidding on Maureen Dowd...I can't understand anything she writes. If I have to work that hard at reading something, I'll give up and scrub some toilets.
The DUmmies are in tears right now.
He's not awful but he gets on my nerves for some reason.
Oh give me a break. If this was fascism they would be locked up and never see the light of day.
