EASON JORDAN JUST RESIGNED
Top CNN exec resigning over Davos remarks By Carolyn Pritchard CBS MarketWatch Last Updated: 6:40 PM ET Feb 11, 2005 SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- CNN's top news executive, Eason Jordan, said Friday he's resigning amid controversy over his assertion that journalists were targeted and killed by coaltion forces in Iraq. "After 23 years at CNN, I have decided to resign in an effort to prevent CNN from being unfairly tarnished by the controversy over conflicting accounts of my recent remarks regarding the alarming number of journalists killed in Iraq," he said in a note to CNN staff. CNN is a unit of Time Warner (TWX: News, Quote) .

So true.... he never would have resigned unless he knew the fire was just going to get hotter and hotter.... and that means the tape must be REALLY damning. If it was enough to get Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and David Gergen so uncomfortable it must be really bad. Make the tape public now!!! Let's see honest journalists (if there are any) start clamoring about "the public's right to know" -- that's what they use against any conservative in office, let's see them apply the same standard here......
Sorry, I had to turn it off. It isn't worth the pain.

Since you mention Gannon...off topic tangent...on Fox Special Report Grapevine Jim Angle reported how the basis of many reporters objecting to Gannon on the grounds of ideology or working for a non-traditional outfit seems to be without merit.
He cited as one example a fellow who works for a Nader outfit and gets the same kind of day passes Gannon got and then Angle reported on one of this guy's recent questions at a briefing. It was if President Bush believed the 6th commandment of thou shalt not kill applied in Iraq.
See post # 154. Here it is again.

The main stream media doesn't realize yet that conservatives don't use the 'information superhighway', the MSM is on a one way trip down the Highway to Hell. They may be able to take down a blogger or two, but we're here, and there are thousands and thousands of us to replace the one or two that caught in the crosshairs. They better reform fast, or they won't have their cushy careers in 5-10 years from now. We're watching and responding to every word they say.
We'll never know.
Besides, I believe MD4BUSH is under the lights now and I believe there was a hint that our founder is just waiting to be subpoenaed vis-a-vis that email posting person. If he's a reporter, then add one more to the list. Also, shouldn't we count Mapes too?
I am like the walking dead.. the all nighter thread and yet I just can't sleep..must have sensed something big was going to break.
RELEASE THE TAPE!
Great news, but he sadly accomplished his goal of saving CNN from a big black mark. It didn't get much mainstream coverage and it won't now, either. Most people don't even have a clue who Eason Jordan is.
Where will he be this Saturday? I will see what I can do.
I'm not entirely up to date on NCPAC but Gannon is certainly not over. This relates to who is considered a "journalist" in this day and age. he goes straight to the heart of the elitist monopoly in that press core. It makes a sham of their claims of objectivity and Gannon did nothing wrong.
We'd be foolish to let this one go.
BTTT
You'd think MSNBC would jump all over this considering CNN is their primary rival.
It remains to be seen who MDFORBUSH is. But there's no question that the Washington Post and the New York Times flat lied about NCPAC's posts on FR. Flat lied about what they said and who said it.
The only other evidence they have, or claim to have, is an anonymous and undated email which they haven't released or even dated. That's evidence? If they lied about the public posts, then presumably they also lied about the email.
That's up to them
They are the ones that are saying these things
Well I am gonna trust them too.
Its now on cbs market watch and wsj.com.
Kudos to those Corner folks at the NRO!
