Not at all. Employees have the right to unionize. Wal-Mart has the right to close stores and not work with unions, "Right To Work" laws or not. I applaud Wal-Mart's move here. No, wait, I stand up and applaud Wal-Mart on this one. I may even whistle and hoot a bit. Heck, I might even grab the pom-pons, don a skirt and do a few "Goooooo WAL-MART" cheers. And you can be certain I'll be stopping there on the way home to pick up some sort of item.

I work in a unionized workplace. Everyone wears their little Teamsters shirts. Lots of bitching and moaning. Lots of fun. I will not support the AFL-CIO for a list of reasons. I have been asked many times to join though. I know Republicans who are in the union. Why? "Company treated us bad blah blah blah" they say. They are not happy with the Bush-bashing that goes in some of the meetings. I feel sorry for them.

Wal-Mart hates unions with a passion. Here in Baltimore County the local Union (UFCW Local 27) has been running an aggressive campaign to force Wal-Mart to unionize. One of the managers confirmed this report in the newspaper: if any of the employees talk about being unionized, they will be fired immediately.
That's how crazy it's getting.
