As far as raw speed, there are a number of reasons why men might be faster than women, thinking-wise. Though none of it appears to matter for things that take more than a second.

The nerve speed is one. Another is the difference in brain structure. In the male, most caclulation is done in one lobe or the other, whereas in the female, a lot is transmitted back and forth via the corpus colaseum.

There are quite a number of differences which suggest that an especially fast response to the environment is designed into the male. Math seems related to the navigational ability that males are predisposed towards. This also appears to be the designated use for the increased number of brain cells that the male has compared to the female.

Differences in Race would be different from differences in sex, or probably even gender. Throwing each into the same pot is just ignorant.

Now if someone was comparing the differences between sexes between different races, that would be a different thing.

Men (GENERALLY) tend to be linear thinkers, and task oriented and don't multi task well. Women tend to be more organic thinkers, multitask incredibly well.

This is just the way it is.

Though if you teach a male to play a musical instrument before the age of about 6, they tend to develop a brain which is structurally more like that of a female than like that of other males.

It's already been well established that even if there isn't much difference in average intelligence distribution between men and women, men are far more likely to be found at the extremes of the spectrum. More male geniuses than female - but also more male idiots than female.

Looking at Einstein's brain shows that it is very abnormal. Certain parts of the brain are quite poorly developed.

As for your original statement, that also applies to lefties: More likely to be geniuses, and more likely to be insane or retarded.

Multi-task is my middle name. I don't see it as a bad thing either. It has its advantages and its faults.

Men think in straight lines point A to B to C etc. all the way to Z.

Women think in webs where they can see how A gets tied to F later and if they do K now, it will make B & C go much faster and totally make it possible to skip M thru S. That way they get to Z much quicker and can go shopping for shoes.

Or in my case, sinks.
