(CNN) -- Nearly two-thirds of Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in the war on terrorism, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Tuesday.

Sixty-four percent of those polled said they were "very" or "somewhat" satisfied with the way things are going in the war on terrorism, while 35 percent said they were dissatisfied.

That is a significant change from October, when 53 percent said they were satisfied and 47 percent were dissatisfied with the war on terror.

The telephone poll of 1,010 adult Americans was conducted between Friday and Sunday, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

This number is a big reason why Bush won. kerry's trashing of how things are going were seen as scary and just plain wrong by 2/3 of the people.

So where do you suppose the people that were polled are getting their information?

Must be watching Fox and checking this Forum.

To believe "information" promoted by the Dems and the MSM -these polling results are both a miracle and a mystery.

You can tell the results of a CNN poll by the coverage the MSM gives it. If it's bad news for Bush you'll hear about it for days. If it's good news for Bush you might catch it at the tail end of "Inside Politics" and that'll be the last you hear of it.

In the last few weeks the American had an opportunity to hear Bush practically uncensored giving his SOU and InAurgural Address. They watched the initial day reports of the Iraq vote that stunned Liberals to the point they let the elections (mostly) that first day slide by without too much derision.

The amazing factor I've noted is that when the President is allowed to speak directly to the people or news isn't filtered through talking heads, his numbers are always near or above 60%. same held true for his speech at the convention. Numbers rose from an hour of speaking to the people over the MSM.

The people generally like and are in agreement with this President. It's only through repetitive liberal spin or attempts to prevent uncensored time of the President that doubt or dislike is cast. Still, 51% overcame that in the elections to give him victory. Conceivably we have about 10% more of the electorate that is open to Republicans/conservatism/this President if we reach them over the MSM.

Agree. This is why I'm always glad to see the President give a prime time speech and "hit the road".....
