To my knowledge Cosby is a Liberal. usually they don't tag people of similiar political tendency to be taken down. Cosby is preaching the end of the "victim" attitude among the black community. He is encouraging parents to take responsibility for their children. This is a direct threat. Allegations against him were going to come sooner or later.
I don't think he has the power to be taken down if he doesn't let them intimidate him on the speaking circuit.
the timing of the allegations certainly raise suspicions of that, and i have no doubt that is what liberals would do, to shut up one of their own. the black community desperately needs to hear it and he is the one that has to make them hear what he has to say.
