Liberals Ain't Got No Manhood
Radiofree West Hartford ^ | February 10, 2005 | Rudy Takala

Lieutenant General James Mattis recently made comments at a forum in San Diego that are now pervading the news; he said, "It's fun to shoot some people… You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them."

So of course, liberals have now become frantic in their revolted outrage. As the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Nihad Awad, said, "We do not need generals who treat the grim business of war as a sporting event. These disturbing remarks are indicative of an apparent indifference to the value of human life."

The characteristics of this incident are similar to the one in late 2003, when Lt. Gen. William Boykin told audiences that terrorists hated America because it was a nation of Christian believers and that the enemy in the war on terrorism was Satan. Nihad Awad was rampaging then also, saying, "Putting a man with such extremist views in a critical policy-making position sends entirely the wrong message to a Muslim world that is already skeptical about America's motives and intentions."

While American generals may treat war with terrorists as a sporting event, CAIR disparages generals like it's a sporting event. What exactly are mass murderers whose goal is the annihilation of America? Saints? To some liberals and their cohorts, perhaps, yes.

Well, he did not use the best judgment in his statement. I mean, well, I think men who slap women around don't have any male anatomy either, but it is one thing to think it and another to say it publicly, especially if you are a general.

I'm given to understand that, in some states, "He Needed Killin'" is a valid defense for murder.

Works for me...

This article is wrong.

Liberals have "manhood."

Real liberals.

The folks who marched with Martin Luther King. Like Charlton Heston.

The folks who took down Hitler, like my Father.

The folks who tore down the Democrats Jim Crowe laws.

The folks who stand today with the free people of Irag and Afghanistan.

But I am breaking a rule. I am daring to defy the definitions imposed on us by the likes of Dan Rather and Bill Clinton.

So be it.

I am a liberal.

I voted for a truly liberal president named Ronald Reagan.

I voted for a truly liberal president named George Bush.

I oppose fascists like Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Al Gore and Hillary Clinton.

I am a liberal, so long as that definition bears any resembelance to truth and not Orwellian obfusciation.

Liberals, true liberals, have manhood. Let them try to challenge me on that!

I respectfully disagree.

The guy leads troops into war. He needs to show that he is a man of action and on PC talk.

He sounds a lot like Patton. Has the qualities of Bradley.

Troops will follow those type of leaders throught the flames of h#ll. And that's what wins wars.

Society has become an arena of wimps when it comes to men.

Some how...it became wrong to be a masculine. And that's wrong.

The military was not designed to be an arena for PC sound bites. War is a horrible business. And it takes men like that great General to get us through it.

Americans, in general, seem to be tiring of the PC line.

It's the job of the General to lead, not to be pretty for reporters.

I have an e-mail that I got from a Marine recently. It seems the Marines love this guy and have faith in him. And its because he is not fake.

The General was simply being honest, if not very diplomatic. Admittedly it affects different men different ways, but I remember how cutting loose with an M-2 can give ya wood. You bet war is fun for some of us. Some of us get a rush from close calls with death and blowing stuff up.

To use a line from a movie, ya feel like "jolly green giants walking the Earth... with guns".

Some people may not feel the same way, I am sure. I find it funny that people who do not mind murdering 40 million innocent unborn babies in the U.S, cry and agonize over the killing of the enemy.

The mission of an army is to kill people and break things. We train and indoctrinate our troops to look forward to it, to like it. Some will call THAT brainwashing, perhaps it is, but it serves the purpose of making them more effective in war, and increasing their chances to return home alive. Men who love their job are better at what they do. The best combat commanders are men who LOVE war. So, they can bitch about the general all they want, but I like the guy.

Well, I love a masculine man who says what he thinks, too. I respect him. However, he will get his A$$ in a sling and may lose his command if the media pushes the thing too hard and then where will his men be? I hate all this PC stuff, too, but that seems to be the way of the world these days. Also, I hate the way we have to tippy toe around the S.O.B.'s who don't mind blowing up innocent people, but who yell and scream if someone on our side uses some WORDS that they don't like.

I served with General Mattis on board the USS Okinawa in 1980.

And what he said is no different than any Marine would have said or should have said.

And I support him 1000% to say it again.

Unless you want Alan Alda protecting you, that is.

That was the OLD definition of liberalism. Somewhere along the way, it did a flip-flop. Now it means the exact opposite of what it used to mean. "Liberal" today means "fascist" or "nanny state" or "socialist". Most unfortunate.

No, I just don't want General Mattis to lose his command because of what he said. You know how the PC climate is these days.

Yeah, it is ironic how a name which implies support of liberty and freedom has come to represent a party which wants to control your life from the cradle to the grave.

I would enjoy hammering an icepick into Bin Laden's left ear. It would be an orgasmic experience that I would share with my grandchildren if they are ever born. I might leave out the part where I twist his nose off with a pair of vicegrips though.

Value of human life? The islamofacists treatment of kidnap victims is the model for "valuing" human life?

Not to mention bombing innocent bystanders.
