Did you prefer the "good old days", when women and children were routinely sexually and physically abused, but it wasn't spoken of by neighbors of such homes.
And if the wife is battered, and the children abused, oh well...they must all learn submission to the head of the household, no matter how violent or sexually deviant he is, as long as he publically professes belief in your faith?

I made the point that the breakup of the family structure in our country has contributed mightily to the epidemic of child abuse we see reported in the news. Your response seemed to be that there was really an "underground" sort of abuse that occurred back when families were more stable--an abuse all the more sinister because it was simply ignored.
Plentiful statistics and numerous case studies support my point. Yours is just rumor and speculation, bolstered perhaps by anecdotes (very like the back-alley abortion horror stories).
I threw in the line about men because you seem so irrational in your contentions that I suspect you have a thing about men. If there is some other reason for your irrationality, I apologize for that bit of speculation.
If you believe that the "news" and unsourced "studies and statistics" has any credibility, why bother posting here?
State your sources for believing that sexual abuse of children did not occur in large numbers in the past 100 years.

You should not try to stereotype by implying so called blue staters molest children and red staters don't.
This violation knows no boundaries, no educationial level, no intelligence level.
Perhaps the red staters deal with being caught differently than blue staters.

Most don't realize that child molestation occurred on a larger scale years ago, BECAUSE NOT MANY GOT CAUGHT.
It seems larger now due to larger population and increased communications ability.
And no cause at all, except perhaps human depravity? Well, no point worrying whether kids grow up in stable families, I suppose. Whatever happens just happens. Too bad about the kids.
