Everyone who works, pays taxes, or finances ANYTHING has
already given his date of birth and Social Security
number. It ISN'T a secret and virtually the whole world
has the info. We've seen what the terrorists can do with
the present I.D. "system". There's an old saying: don't
let the perfect be an enemy of the good. If we can make
ANY improvement in the present forms of I.D. documentation
we'll all be safer and more secure. For those of you who
think the feds don't know you -- nice, but about 50 years
too late! The only people who are truly "underground"
today are the illegals or terrorists who are gaming the
PRESENT lousy system.
I have not seen evidence that creating a national ID will be an impovement over what we have now. ANY improvement at all.
