America's top radio talker Rush Limbaugh was greeted like a rock star on Monday during an appearance in San Jose, California, while taking a few days off from his regular broadcast to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.
The packed house at the San Jose Civic Auditorium "welcomed him with a standing ovation," reported the San Jose Mercury News. "There were no hecklers or protesters, and the only shouts were of love for the host," the paper said.
"We are in the midst of a seminal historic shift in this country," Limbaugh told the audience. "The Democrat party and the media have lost their monopoly. They don't rule the roost anymore."
The watershed political moment would have amazed his father, the top talker observed. "If my father could see what's happened today, just the sight of the Democrat party would extend his life by 10 years."
That's one reason conservatives have nothing to fear from Hillary Clinton, he assured those on hand.
Still, the GOP faces a major political problem that can no longer be ignored, he warned. "The Republicans' failure to understand the American people's building rage on illegal immigration" could give rise to a third party candidate, he said, who could tip the 2008 presidential race to the Democrats, much the same way Ross Perot's campaign did in 1992.
Limbaugh also seemed to revise earlier criticism of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for not being conservative enough, telling the audience, "I was wrong."
2,700 people paid $40 a piece to see Limbaugh live. Proceeds from the event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a charity Limbaugh has supported since he went national in 1988.

Read the entire thread, Gulf was attacking Rush ad nauseum requesting proof of this, proof of that etc. For every demand of proof, TomB provided the info. And as I stated previously, for every proof offered, Gulf would move the goal post........
Time for Gulf to stop hijacking this RUSH thread and STFU........
This thread was moving along quite nicely when it started, everyone was politely ignoring Gulf until TomB finally stepped in the pile of crap on the sidewalk and called him on his false allegations. From that point on, this became a Gulf thread........

I HAVE read the entire thread. Why you consider it hijacked I don't understand. Just beacuse YOU consider the information to be irrelevant doesn't make it so. You keep wanting to say Tonk's information is irrelevant, but that's YOUR opionion, which I hasten to add, is your right to hold. But at the same time, because you deem his information irrelevant, you indicate that he has no right to post it. So only what you hold to be true is worth posting?? Sort of a catch-22 IMO.

I refuse to be spoon-fed opinions by some overpaid person who has simply the ability to speak english.

All I need to know is he lives on FR and that it doesn't do any good to post all that here. You could just ask the typical FR "Do you think Kerry is a traitor and should be run out of the Senate" and 80% of the poeple would say yes - whether he ever posted anything here or not. It's just _not_ making a difference when, if this was really what he wanted to devote his life to, he could.
