America's top radio talker Rush Limbaugh was greeted like a rock star on Monday during an appearance in San Jose, California, while taking a few days off from his regular broadcast to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.
The packed house at the San Jose Civic Auditorium "welcomed him with a standing ovation," reported the San Jose Mercury News. "There were no hecklers or protesters, and the only shouts were of love for the host," the paper said.
"We are in the midst of a seminal historic shift in this country," Limbaugh told the audience. "The Democrat party and the media have lost their monopoly. They don't rule the roost anymore."
The watershed political moment would have amazed his father, the top talker observed. "If my father could see what's happened today, just the sight of the Democrat party would extend his life by 10 years."
That's one reason conservatives have nothing to fear from Hillary Clinton, he assured those on hand.
Still, the GOP faces a major political problem that can no longer be ignored, he warned. "The Republicans' failure to understand the American people's building rage on illegal immigration" could give rise to a third party candidate, he said, who could tip the 2008 presidential race to the Democrats, much the same way Ross Perot's campaign did in 1992.
Limbaugh also seemed to revise earlier criticism of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for not being conservative enough, telling the audience, "I was wrong."
2,700 people paid $40 a piece to see Limbaugh live. Proceeds from the event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a charity Limbaugh has supported since he went national in 1988.
CDB ROCKS...MUD
He doesn't display confidence. He's outright just RUDE!
Great, here in Sacramento that'll be twice as much Tom Sullivan.
Man, I can't stand the guy, he has a highly inflated sense of his own intelligence and sense of humor and truck loads of pomposity. The only thing he's got going on is his voice.
Does he still do that stupid bit where he acts like he can't remember Sacramento's fine whacko mayor Heather Fargo's name? Gee that wasn't funny the first hundred times he did it.
Heh.
Yep. When I'm heading to the house of someone I'm not particularly fond of. But your point is well made.
Oh, for lawds sake, why don't you get your own radio show and then YOU can rant all you want. I doubt that anyone would listen long, though, because you are sooooo boring.

BTW, Welcome to FreeRepublic!
Your incessant whining that Rush won't "ask him to sign a form 180" carries with it the requirement that he actually speaks with him. He could make a demand on his show, but why would Kerry listen when he was already directly ASKED by Tim Russert, and did nothing?
Face it, Rush making a demand that Kerry sign a form 180 might make you feel better (although I highly doubt it), but it won't serve any other purpose.
"I was wrong."
Are they sure that was actually Rush who was speaking?
"Oh, for lawds sake, why don't you get your own radio show and then YOU can rant all you want. I doubt that anyone would listen long, though, because you are sooooo boring."
But you din't mind when Viet Nam Vets helped Bush get re-elected.
Now we're just trash, again.
So "move on" like you did with klinton, hitlery and reno.
PS When will Rush set the record straight on this?
AFFIDAVIT OF STEVEN J. PITKIN combat veteran of the Vietnam War (Kerry pressured him to give false Winter Soldier testimony)

Pitkin Affidavit
AFFIDAVIT OF STEVEN J. PITKIN
STATE OF FLORIDA
COUNTY OF PALM BEACH
Before me, the undersigned authority, personally appeared Steven J. Pitkin, known, to me to be the person whose name is subscribed to this instrument, who, after first being duly sworn by me, upon oath stated:
1. My name is Steven J. Pitkin. I am over the age of twenty-one years, and I am fully competent and able to make this affidavit. I am able to swear, as I do hereby swear, that all facts and statements contained in this affidavit are true and correct and within my personal knowledge.
2. I am a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the Ninth Division of the U.S. Army beginning 25 May 1969. A mortar explosion wounded me, my wounds gradually became infected, and I was treated in an Army hospital in Okinawa. I contracted hepatitis C from blood transfusions I received during that time. I left Vietnam on 28 August 1969 and was honorably discharged from the Army on 9 September 1970.
3. Medals received for my Army service include: Combat Infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry, Air Medal, Purple Heart.
4. During my service in Vietnam, I neither witnessed nor participated in any American war crimes or atrocities against civilians, nor was I ever aware of any such actions. I did witness the results of Vietcong atrocities against Vietnamese civilians, including the murder of tribal leaders.
5. Upon my return to the United States I encountered anti-war protestors who, at various times, threw feces, spit, and screamed obscenities.
6. I joined Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), at Catonsville Community College in Baltimore in 1970.
7. In January of 1971, I rode in a van with John Kerry, a national leader of the VVAW, and others from Washington D.C. to Detroit to attend the Winter Soldier Investigation, a conference intended to publicize alleged American war crimes in Vietnam. Having no knowledge of such war crimes, I did not intend to speak at the event.
8. During the Winter Soldier Investigation, John Kerry and other leaders of that event pressured me to testify about American war crimes, despite my repeated statements that I could not honestly do so. One event leader strongly implied that I would not be provided transportation back to my home in Baltimore, Maryland, if I failed to comply. Kerry and other leaders of the event instructed me to publicly state that I had witnessed incidents of rape, brutality, atrocities and racism, knowing that such statements would necessarily be untrue.
9. In April 1971, I attended a VVAW protest in Washington D.C. known as Dewey Canyon III. During this event I was present when protestors, including John Kerry, threw medals and ribbons over a fence outside the U.S. Capitol. I witnessed a man holding a bag of ribbons and medals and handing them out to other protestors. I saw that many of the ribbons and medals were not those that would be received by veterans of combat in Vietnam.
10. During the Dewey Canyon III protest, others and I confronted protestors who were wearing or carrying Vietcong flags.
11. After the Dewey Canyon III protest, I was no longer invited to meetings of the VVAW in Baltimore, and ended my association with the organization.
12. I joined the 5/20th Special Forces Group of the Maryland National Guard in 1974, was graduated from paratrooper jump school with honors in 1976, joined the Coast Guard in 1978 and served there until my retirement in May 1997.
(signed) Steven J. Pitkin
Further affiant saith not.
Subscribed and sworn to before me this 15th Day of September, 2004.

If you don't want to get ZOTTED, then when you mention the divine Ms. Coulter, you must post a pic:
I am not trying to be rude...but just because you post tomes..do you assume someone reads them?
"Your incessant whining that Rush won't "ask him to sign a form 180"
Yep, the election is over.
Back to being a Viet Nam Vet.
AND a "war criminal"
Go complain to Rush that a "war criminal" is "after you".
Why would Rush asking make any difference?
If only he could figure out how to speak IN different colors and font sizes
So I take it your not a "war criminal"?
You just don't get do you?
Here, read and learn

My fellow veterans, the debate over whether John Kerry earned or deserved any medals or ribbons is for others. What is most concerning is his behavior while still an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Let me try and put this in perspective.
According to publicly available records, Mr. Kerry was released from active duty and transferred to the Naval Reserve (inactive) in January 1970. In January 1972, he was transferred to the standby Reserve (inactive). While a commissioned officer in the inactive Naval Reserve, Mr. Kerry traveled to Paris, France, and met with official delegations from the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) and the Provisional Revolutionary Government (the Viet Cong). The Vietnamese Communists eagerly met Mr. Kerry and benefited directly from the obvious propaganda victory.
These acts are clear violations of the legal prohibitions on individual citizens negotiating with foreign powers and the constitutional prohibition against giving support to our nation's enemies in wartime. Additionally, as a commissioned officer of the Naval Reserve, Mr. Kerry was subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice and likely violated it ("aiding the enemy") through his actions with the North Vietnamese/Viet Cong delegation.
Mr. Kerry returned from his private negotiations with the Vietnamese Communists to Washington, D.C., and held a news conference. At the press event, he advocated a Vietnamese Communist "peace proposal" calling for a U. S. withdrawal from Vietnam and payment of war damage reparations to the communist government. Mr. Kerry engaged in this advocacy on behalf of a foreign power with which we were at war while continuing to hold a commission as an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
The record is clear on his testimony to the Senate on U.S. war crimes and his advocacy of the North Vietnamese position.
Again, the medal debate is for others, although I know of a lot of brave men who did much more and got no recognition for their bravery under fire.

Why would it make any difference what Rush "asks" if Tim Russert already asked him face to face and it didn't do any good?
Yep, the election is over!
You can attack me, rather than Hanoi Kerry
After all he's the hero, not me.
I'm just a "war criminal" that was there when the hero was there.
AND he told everyone in April 1971
Must be, Rush won't even bring his testimony in April 1971 up.
So Hanoi Kerry has rewritten history.
Ain't life grand!
My ship invaded North Viet Nam.
I'm a war criminal.
Just ask the Honorable Senator John Kerry.
He's a hero, just ask the US Senators that he serves with.
Just ask FOX and EIB.
They will tell you.
Hail to the Honorable Senator John Kerry.
I have to report to the education camp in Washington DC
When do you REPORT FOR DUTY?
