Jeff Gannon - A Voice of the New Media - The voice goes silent.

Jeff Gannon

A Voice of the New Media

The voice goes silent.

Because of the attention being paid to me I find it is no longer possible to effectively be a reporter for Talon News. In consideration of the welfare of me and my family I have decided to return to private life.

Thank you to all those who supported me.

Anderson Cooper had a 5-minute segment at the bottom of the hour (7:30), half report by Kathleen Koch, half interview with Congresswoman Slaughter. Anderson Cooper noted that the White House and Talon News declined invitations to appear, and did ask a few tough questions (apologizing for arguing with her).

I think Wolf Blitzer also had an interview with the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz at 6.

It's also been picked up by Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, who interviewed Dana Milbank of the Washington Post.

The common thread seems to be trying to tie the Gannon resignation to the (perceived) Armstrong Williams pay-for-play incident. Congresswoman Slaughter claimed Gannon was "part of the pattern of Armstrong Williams, and three or four others, amid who knows how many, who have been paid to shill for this White House", and even admitted she thought Jeff Gannon was a White House plant.

White House press whores can't tolerate a conservative in their midst. Too upsetting to their Dem pimps and johns.

Looks like the Old Media (Boston Globe) got a member of the New Media.

The liberal media empire strikes back? Follows their Rather forgery defeat at the hands of TankerKC, Buckhead, FR, and the blogs.

Really, I think President Bush ought to respond by giving credentials to the bloggers and giving them all a front row seat. The MSM should be relegated to the back.

I am new to this thread, and am devastated that they're going after Jeff Gannon (and that he felt he had to quit because of it). His questions during press conferences have been delightful! Again, it is amazing to what lengths the left will go to destroy someone they see as being different than they are. The party of tolerance and diversity (/sarcasm) strikes again. They are willing to destroy the career of someone just because they don't like his message. :(

"The common thread seems to be trying to tie the Gannon resignation to the (perceived) Armstrong Williams pay-for-play incident."

Isn't it pathetic how these leftwing fascists are trying to shut every conservative journalists up through sheer demagoguery. In the meantime, there are reporters that are practically accusing Bush of murder and lies. Eason Jordan accuses US soldiers of targeting journalists. Gannon, who'se only "crime" is that he is a conservative reporter, is being lynched.

I'm really angry about this.

If you want to get angrier, you can read Maureen Dowd's most recent column.

The media's trying to turn this into "the White House wants to control the message!" while nobody is stopping them from trying to find out what they believe to be the truth.

" The media's trying to turn this into "the White House wants to control the message!""

Exactly, which is why this whole thing is so idiotic. Talon News is a tiny little news outlet 99.9% of Americans have never heard of. How in God's name can they possible be used to "control the news". I wish someone on the left can explain that.

Well we had ours when the blogs outted dan rather's memo - so it doesn't suprise me that left leaning blogs when networking together can help toss out jeff gannon. i personally thought he was kind of a joke, and a problem waiting to happen (his questions were just begging to be ridiculed by leftwingers).. i guess the moral is cover your ass ;).. we need to stay on top of everything and continue to fact check things ourselves as well.

How many of these ringers do you rightwingers have stored in your basement? Yesterday's WH gaggle reveals that several other trolls showed up to take the spot usually reserved for "Jeff Gannon" or whatever his name really is.
