Please explain how this mistake has ANYTHING to do with the smears and attacks on Jeff Gannon which have been popping up. Don't you think perhaps this is a bit more than a bunch of journalists wringing their hands and pointing their fingers at a mistake?

Jeff Gannon used a bogus quote without checking it - confirmed on this thread.

Jeff Gannon has resigned - probable - it was the post that started this thread, but I would like to see confirmation from Jeff himself, since he is a freeper.

Look, the problem is that a guy with alleged ties to male prostitution was given unprecendented access to the White House, and given a White House press pass that didn't even have his real name on it, in order to throw fake softball questions at the press briefings to help make the president look good.

it seems rather gate did extract a very heavy toll of flesh on several fired CBS employees ... what was wrong was there was no apology that I can tell from CBS nor the basic journalistic fact checking people should expect.. any slandering is unrelated to whether or not the white house should plant shills to spin the media... this is a new event in the white house..
