Pardon the vanity but I believe this will make for an intriguing thread.
I have been following rather closely this I-Pod phenomenon with interest. There was a piece in USA Today last week where they compare the I-Pod users with cult members. One 20 something was quoted as saying "my I-Pod changed my life." IMHO, that means this individual was in serious need of a life.
Now follow me here. Libs complain about those of us in the "radical religious Right." However, it is my observation that the Left is just as religious as any Evangelical,Conservative Catholic or devout Jew. They just worship God's creations not God himself.
They have their own Churches. PETA,NOW,ACLU, Greenpeace,AIM, et al. They have clergy-Shrinks. They have condoms for Rosary beads... Follow. I think I-Pods are now part of their religion. Apple?
Notice I didn't say MP3 player. It has to be an I-Pod. Otherwise, it's like water and Holy Water. Won't work.
Now, I happen to believe MP3 players are definitely nifty gadgets. I am researching the purchase of one for myself. However, they are gadgets not lifechanging experiences. I have no doubt many freepers own I-Pods. I also have little doubt you are more than what is on you I-Pod.
Well I didn't know there was a difference between MP3 players and IPods beside the brand name...

sure iPods are nifty, I grabbed a 20GB Samsung/Napster model w/FM tuner (and voice recorder and case) for $199 -about the price of the 4GB iPod mini (w/o tuner).

Honestly, I think there are droves of Leftists out there with plotting their revolution on Macs - I don't know, I think its because a lot of universities use them and they also supposed to have some nifty software for artists, etc. Of course, there is also the whole corporate evil schtick with Bill Gates, etc. For those people, they see using the Mac as somehow being part of the counter-culture. Of course, these idiots are too dumb to use Linix (which is the way to go if you really want to stick it to the corporate America.)

I load music on my more versatile iPaq when I need portable music. It also serves as my GPS navigation, I have WiFi and 2 different browsers to choose from, it does the traditional calender and contacts and my latest addition - I upgraded to a 1Gb memory card and can load 2 - 3 full length movies on it.

This is where you went wrong. You took a MSM news article and accepted it as gospel, when in reality the reporter simply ginned up the story to look cool.
