O'Malley Blames GOP Plot For Rumors (MD GOVERNOR'S AID FIRED FOR FREE REPUBLIC POSTS)

Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley yesterday accused agents of Maryland Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s administration of spreading false rumors that he had an extramarital affair, and Ehrlich responded hours later by dismissing a longtime employee.
The mayor, a Democrat considering a bid for governor in 2006, said he believes that the widespread and persistent rumors were part of a "concerted and orchestrated and sustained" effort and called on the Republican governor to apologize to his wife and children. "I don't think any of us run for office expecting that this sort of hurt will be heaped on our kids or our spouses," O'Malley said.
Ehrlich said an apology was premature and denied any personal involvement in spreading the rumor. He then asked for and received the resignation of Joseph Steffen, a longtime aide working in state government. Steffen confirmed yesterday that he had discussed the rumor on a popular conservative Web site and in private e-mails, which were given to The Washington Post.

If anything, Herr O'Malley ought to be worrying more about his breathtakingly dreadful performance as Mayor and the mass-scale homocides as a result (not to mention his obscene comments comparing the President to Osama bin Laden). Incompetent and a whackjob.
Stay strong in these difficult times, NCPAC.

If you mention, even on different threads, even over the course of five years posting on FR, that you have five kids (oldest in 10th grade), you were born in March, you live in Lincoln, Illinois (population 16,000), you drive a blue Chevy Tahoe and your first name is Stan, then you have identified yourself.Damn. You got me.

Sounds familiar. I left MD in '98. Five years there was all I could handle. Sure was nice to get back to "slower" Delaware. It is strange though...when I left Biden wasn't quite a raving lunatic, and Carper had just passed taxcuts as Gov. My how the Dems in Delaware have marched leftward over the years. Then again, they're just following the national party...

The Republican Party is growing in Maryland! You'll see! That may be true but it's like saying the Army of Uganda is growing and soon will be able to attack the USA.
Until we can rid ourselves of the dreaded PG/Montgomery/Balto City coalition of libs and freeloaders, we're doomed in presidential elections.

He already admitted he lied. While I understand his motivation it still does not make it right to out and out lie. FR will take some heat on this if he is not zotted. If we condone lies and numerous posting IDs we are heading to a slippery slope.

Thank you. I will be fine - and finding work shouldn't be a problem. No, it won't.
I'm tempted to set up a Fast Response Team (getting it's funding from GOP sources) who's sole goal is to do to the left what was done to you and Jeff Gannon.
Seriously.

NCPAC..as you can tell I got in late on this thread but I have one question..
Was anything you said "untrue"? And I'll even give you the benefit that journalists claim for themselves, "Was what you said true to the best of your knowledge"?
Good luck in the future...sounds like you'll be OK.

Your question is worth a post of it's own. Time to smoke 'em out...
Yeah, I was wondering the same. Just how do they find out who is behind the screen names???

I imagine NCPAC is rather busy today and doesn't have time to answer. I took the liberty of copying his four comments on the post in question. I don't know about any other posts, but it doesn't look like NCPAC said anything untoward on this one.

I have a glossy of SB from her TV11 days. Am thinking of taking it to one of MO'M's concerts and asking him to autograph it for me.

Did you know SB was hit by hit and run driver while covering a story in NJ a few weeks back: Knocked ten feet in the air, hospitalized, but is expected to be fine. They never have caught the driver. This news added a lot of fuel to the current fire.

The reporter in question worked for WBAL TV 11 and now works for ABC7 in NYC. She's listed on 7's website. Don't know if she worked for Bloomberg.
I heard she had twins, but I've also heard she had one child.

Good God, are they after FreeRepublic? How much do these people believe in free speech -- when it's not the free speech of the owners of the press?
The Baltimore Sun will be running a piece on this as well on Wednesday. They called Tuesday night and were ready to pin the whole thing on the Governor, and I couldn't let that happen because it simply isn't true. The Governor had no knowledge of anything involving O'Malley or the "rumors."
Also, the Baltimore Sun has a list of FReepers they read off to me to see if I was "also" posting under those screen names. I don't remember all of them, but CrushKerry was one.
It's been one wild ride, FRiends.

"LOL. All I know is that I was once called a boring "turgid tard" from a hick town in the frozen tundra of the Midwest(with brain to match). Creative. I'll give them that much. Oh yeah. I'm supposedly an Elmer Fudd wannabe....hehhehhehheh" I was called a "nasty piece of work with a yard full of pitbulls." I kinda liked that description....and they did say I looked good in a tight T-shirt....so there was a compliment.

I am not worried about my identity being exposed...I even have my photo on the home page. Wow! Yet another fine example of the fact that conservative women are much more attractive than liberal women on the inside AND the outside!
