In February, the ultimate obediant soliders, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and POW's for Truth will recieve the 'Courage Under Fire' at a banquet hosted by the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Former US Senator Zell Miller, who was tapped to present this honor, said of the group, 'They performed an invaluable service to America..these veterans took a lot of undeserved criticism for daring to speak the truth.'
This bizarre notion, and the fact that the Swift Boat Vets have been embraced by the Republicans and perhaps a significant percentage of the electorate, does not bode well for the cause of ethical warfare.
Kerry was targeted not because of what he did in Vietnam, but for what he did afterwords. He had the audacity to testify in front of the US Senate in 1971 because he thought shooting women and children and burning villages to the ground qualified as war crimes.
Kerry believed that morality is an essential part of being a good soldier, and morality trumps the idea of loyalty and obediance by way of silence. In fact, this 'ideal' may have cost him the presdiency.
So the long war of John Kerry continues. We are still in the grip, as Kerry said in his testimony of more than 30 years ago, of 'John Wayne' syndrome, masculinity and patriotism through brutality and racism.
Safeguarding freedom, justice and the protection of innocent civilians apparently are not ideas that become ingrained in the hearts and minds of many recruits. Only time will tell if the good soldiers have lost the battle or the war.

Me too!
Sign the 180 this afternoon ? NO.
I like your comment -- it sums up my feelings as well.
You are correct .. and what I find interesting is that the person who wrote this article - is not listed as a comunist for the Intervention Mag.
If just one person from this organization had the GUTS to read Unfit for Command - they might get a few items correct about John Kerry. But - when you are blinded by arrogance - truth is not available to you.
The brass testicles chutzpah of liberals is too much for my brain to process. Self admitted war criminal and obvious traitor Kerry lectures us on morality!
Ooops! "listed as a comunist "
I meant to say COLUMNIST!
Are you one that thinks there's a columnist under every bed.
Let us not forget that Kerry himself admitted last Sunday on Meet the Press to having delivered weapons to the Khmer Rouge via Swift Boat on one of him many forays into Cambodia. Last time I looked, the Khmer Rouge were actively intervening in the Vietnam war on the side of their brothers the Viet Cong.
"Kerry was targeted not because of what he did in Vietnam, but for what he did afterwords."
Well, at least that part of what the article said was true.... for me at least LOL!! I targeted Kerry because of what he did afterwords. Long afterwords!
His voting against funding the war was what set me off on my journey to try to help re-elect President Bush.
I had my special little song up on every one of the online music sites that offer my music to the public. And it got major downloads. I also stayed online offering the song in yahoo chat rooms for 12 to 16 hrs a day. Especially those here at home because I was worried about Ohio and which way we would go. Thank God we went President Bush's way!
I re-worked the file after the Republican Convention, added a little comment about Zell Miller. If anyone wants to check out what I was up to I still have one copy of the song up on soundclick.com. It's called "You Sold Out Our Children Mr Kerry"
It's down toward the bottom of the page: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/writePage.cfm?myType=music&bandid=41129&bandnamesave=gloriajane
Kerry had no interest in ethical warfare back in 1970. He wanted to get the U.S. out of Vietnam. His North Vietnamese friends didn't believe in "ethical warfare".
Great work!
See #27
Thank You! I worked my butt off but it was worth it! LOL!!
It was a joke.
I hope that awards ceremony will be on C-SPAN. I'd love to see Zell's speech..
Wish I had C-Span. I miss a lot of what's going on because I just get local stations.
Maybe a ballgame or the History Channel occasionally, but you arent missing much.
"Intervention" magazine?? More like "Invention"! What a load of typical commie crap.
Somebody is actually thinking about John Kerry. Amazing.
