Kerry: Blame Osama, Not Teresa
CBS News ^ | February 8, 2005

Teresa Heinz Kerry got a bad rap during the presidential campaign, her husband said Monday.

Democratic Sen. John Kerry, who lost his bid for the White House last November, told New York City radio host Don Imus that incidents on the campaign trail were blown out of proportion.

"I was really upset about that on a personal level," the Massachusetts senator said during the interview, aired on WFAN-AM radio and also broadcast on MSNBC.

Reports had circulated during the campaign that Heinz Kerry — who is known for speaking her mind — could be a bit disruptive.

"We all know there were a couple statements here and there that got blown up, but the fact is she campaigned her heart out," said Kerry.

He said a recent article on the matter was gossip. "I'm not going to worry about it. You know, that article is like having a colonoscopy and you move on."

In other comments, Kerry said the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks were the "predominant overriding element" in his election loss.

"I think that in the end, an awful lot of people were unwilling to switch commander in chief in midstream," he said, adding that his support was going up in the week before the Nov. 2 vote, but flatlined after a new tape of Osama bin Laden was released.

The report of her disruptiveness came from members of the demoncRAT party. sKerry should consider where the info came from.

The true beauty lies in noshing the raisins (a generally benign, healthful snack) instead of just taking a nip. Or two. Sadly, like many things in politics...there are racial overtones, ie., only white raisins will do.

I have to ask...why can't all raisins be good enough? Why can't all of the raisins just get along?

Thirdly, when is guy going to STFU about why he lost the election. He lost the election because his campaign sucked wet dog fur.

LOL! Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel! :-)

He's still pondering what went wrong with his campaign?! Move on already!

Ain't gonna happen. Look at Carter, he's still fuming about the 1980 election.

If Kerry had displayed that kind of sense of humor, he might have gotten more votes. Thank G-d he didn't.

I think he was being serious.

Post 14 agrees with you. You are both correct of course, but it was a close call. The pundits were saying it was a Kerry win that night, I had a sick feeling in the stomach like I had been punched. Thank God that was not true.

If he is going to confer with the Navy before the records are released, what is he going to do if he "discovers" something in the records that is not to his liking? Will he have the records "corrected"? Will he refuse to release that section?

If he would not alter the records prior to release, what is the purpose of conferring with the Navy and reviewing the records in advance?

What is in these records that John F. Kerry is so afraid of? Is there anybody who believes for a moment that John F. Kerry does not know exactly what is in these records?

And that priceless moment in the last debate when Kerry said he'd married 'way, way up'....big pause while we waited for him to say he loved TerAYsa more than all her money. He'd love her if she were penniless. He couldn't bring himself to utter another word. She should toss Kerry out on his ear.

That nutcase Theresa needs to sell "her" property in Pittsburgh and get her ugly ass out of here completely.

Today's excuse, #987

Yep. And the only Dem who had a shot of crossover appeal was snuffed out of the primary early (Lieberman). That guy needs to switch parties.
