An international Islamic charity based in Dallas has suspended operations, saying it's unfairly become the target of an investigation by the U.S. government.
Federal authorities refused to confirm whether KinderUSA was under investigation for financing terrorism. The 3-year-old organization has personnel ties to the defunct Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, which was shut down in December 2001 after it was accused of being the primary American fund-raiser for the Palestinian group Hamas, which has been accused of terrorism.
In recent postings on Kinder- USA's Web site, board members accused federal investigators of using illegal tactics. They also said they feared the government would seize the group's donations, as has happened several times since the U.S. crackdown on Muslim charities after the terrorist attacks of September 2001.
KinderUSA's staff in Dallas and the group's chairwoman, Dr. Laila Al-Marayati, declined to comment about the shutdown, its rationale or the potential fallout.
Dr. Al-Marayati's husband, Salam, who runs a nationwide Muslim-American advocacy group with no affiliation to KinderUSA, said the charity's closure has been painful and upsetting for the Muslim community and donors.
"They're very troubled as well, and they would like to see it resolved in the best interests of all parties," said Mr. Al-Marayati, director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council based in Los Angeles. "We would like to know what's going on."

Yea, it's highly suspect that they have affiliation with Holy Land Foundation.
"...they would like to see it resolved in the best interests of all parties."
Best would be for the subhuman muslim terrorist supporters to be deported back to any turd world hellhole, US citizen or not. I'll chip-in for airfare: here's $1.
With your $1 they're not going to get very far. ; >
The Richardson corridor of Dallas has become a mecca of sorts for Muslims. That was the location of the Holy Land Foundation investigated and shut down several years ago.
Since this "religion" practices taqiyyah, lying to and deceiving infidels, why should we believe these proclamations of innocence? Why should anyone even listen? You can't have it both ways. You can't abuse our laws and our values, then cry foul when you get caught. Tough darts.
I was hoping others would also chip-in. 8^)
I know they're being overrun down there. When TSHTF, it's going to be a huge pile, IMO.
Bump.
Well, well, well!bump! bump! bump!
If they quit operations just because they're being investigated, it sure looks like they have something to hide. The company I work for gets audited by the IRS every year. I don't even pay any attention to it.
What is a "fair" investigation? Just asking the perp if they did it, and then accepting the denial as gospel?
Are they not supposed to look at the books?
I would think a newly formed organization like this would welcome an "audit" by the investigators. If it passed muster, it would be one of the few charities run by the Muslins that has done so, which would be a great sales pitch for more donations.
Oh, Bee Haave, Baby, and no one will mess you up!
