This is inexcusable, period. NO credible justification. The states may just have to take on the responsibility - FULL responsibility - themselves. They ought to tell the Border Patrol to get the hell out and stay out, if this is the way they're going to 'enforce' existing immigration laws.

It would appear that our own government is deliberately invading the country by telling the world that with our open border policy this country is for the taking! Come and get it, Commies everywhere!

This is precisely what the National Guard is for. The Guard is NOT intended for being used as cannon fodder or whatnot in Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other foreign country (not to diminish our noble effort there nor the sacrifices of members of the National Guard). The National Guard is intended to guard our borders, etc. right here at home. But name a single border state governor with the will to use the National Guard as they were intended. Arnold the RINO Governator certainly won't in California. Lesbian leftist carpetbagger Democrat Janet Napolitano won't in Arizona. Liberal loser Democrat Bill Richardson won't in New Mexico. And Dubya wannabe Rick Perry won't in Texas.

Peas in a Pod: Governor Bill Richardson greets California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano looks on during the Border Governors' Association meeting in Santa Fe.

When citizens get fed up and try to do something about it, the FBI, Border Patrol, ICE, DHS, etc. get all cozy with the leftist loonie Southern Poverty Law Center run by child molester Morris Dees and they start targetting the concerned citizens, characterizing them as a racist "militia" group, calling their properties a "compound", and spooking everyone around them. And then they start arresting them on trumped up charges, lock some away without charge, trial or access to a lawyer (or diabetes medication for that matter), and even shoot some of them for no good reason.

The FedGov has been proven to be complicit in the invasion that is destroying my county and my state. Congress proposes amnesty for the invaders' crimes and even wants to reward them. The President joins in and wants to reward them too with amnesty, jobs, Social Security benefits, and citizenship. The agencies intended to protect the border are willfully screwing that up (not the agents though, they know their job and want to actually do it despite their mismanagement). The states are doing little or nothing. Only citizens' initiatives and referendums (see Proposition 200 in Arizona) as well as some new legislation in some of the state legislatures is doing anything to deal with the problem.

And then you have your Republican apologists who infest forums such as Free Republic to shout down or brow beat anyone who speaks up about the issue and the complicity of members of the Republican Party.

It's time for more people to get outraged about this national security problem and to speak up some more. RINO Rep. Jim 'My amnesty for illegals isn't really an amnesty even though I've voted for amnesty every time its been presented in Congress' Kolbe is going to brave his home district again this month in some town hall meetings. He was met with fierce protests lead by local Republicans a year ago after the President announced he support for Amnesty. His town hall in Cochise County has been announced and he's asking for it by stating the topic of the town hall is border security. Oh my... A group is forming called Republicans Opposing Amnesty and Rewards to meet him (and any other amnesty-supporting Republicans) with more protests. This problem is only getting worse and Americans need to hear about it.

" The states may just have to take on the responsibility - FULL responsibility - themselves."

That's presupposing that we still live in a constitutional republic and the states are still sovereign.
