Jay VanAndel, co-founder of Amway, donated $1 million to the Fla. GOP before his death in December.
He was 80 and was suffering from Alzeimers. Listed as 231st wealthiest person in the US - $2.3 billion.
In comparison, the Fla. Dems top soft money givers were as follows:
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers $332,000
Jacksonville trial lawyer Wayne Hogan $253,000
Florida Great Lakes Radio Consortium $240,000
Service Employees International Union $214,000
Texas trial lawyer Frederick M. Baron $200,000
Communications Workers of America $200,000

Or more precisely, 150 thousand boxes of laundry detergent.
Some information is missing in this story. If he had Alzheimers Disease, either someone else was working the purse strings, or there were standing orders for this donation.
Does anybody actually buy Scamway? I thought it was a type of quasi-religious cult like EST or something.
I mean, I can get what I need at Wal Mart. Same thing goes for Tupperware. Why buy something that does the same thing as Rubbermaid but costs 3 times more, you have to wait to get it, and you have to sit through lousy and pushy Tupperware parties?
This stuff belongs to the era of the door-to-door Fuller Brush Saleman.
My thoughts exactly.
I don't think Jay has been making too many million dollar decisions lately.
No. Nobody buys it.
DeVos and Van Andel have been paying 10,000 employees out of their pockets and dumping the vitamins, cosmetics and soap they manufacture in the ocean.
Nobody buys a thing.
I am with you 100%! Walmart is my choice as well.
Not quite true. The 10,000 employees would be required to buy the product, then they can dump it in the ocean.
You ever wonder where the white foam comes from when the waves hit the beach?
Meijer or even Kmart is better than Wal-Mart.
lol!
I see you're still spitting into the wind... ;-) Some people simply enjoy being misinformed. Leave them alone.
