Yesterday's Superbowl pregrame presentation had some very patriotic moments. Ranking up near the top of them was one of the best renditions of our national anthem that I've ever heard.
I wanted anyone who hadn't seen that presentation, to have the opportunity to see it. If you did see it, you may wish to see it again. Here's your chance.

Small version 2.75mb

Large version 11.5mb

The small version is still pretty good. The sound and video are better in the larger version. Both are presented in the 320x240 format.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

I'm glad the NFL went that route for the SSB rather than have some pop diva wail, or some rocker butcher it. I have only seen one popular music performer do the SSB well - Huey Lewis & the News - a capella - that was awesome.

I was thrilled when they introduced who was going to sing it then was extremely let down with their rendition. Very disappointing. I thought it was flat.

thanks O' DoughtyOne !
This is excellent ! the large ver. saved perfectly for me .
What an honor to have this now residing in my computer !
Indeed this is one of the cleanest , clearest , most moving renditions of the National Anthem that I have ever heard .
Very moving ! I thrilled to it at the start of the game
and I think I shall listen to it daily from now on .
Thanks!
The flyover by what I believe are the new Raptors
was pretty cool too .......

Actually the best solo I have ever heard for the national anthem was Whitney Houston...

The best version of the Anthem I ever heard was the recorded one they used to play at Baltimore's old Memorial Stadium. I believe it was by the Johnny Mann Singers -- it was dignified, harmonious and straightforward. The focus was on the song and not the singer, which is rare and which I appreciate very much. When it comes to "God Bless America," Kate Smith has a lock. Especially the inspiring version that John Batchelor plays to end his show every night.

Very disappointing...?
Are you given to hyperbole? It was okay, pts for and against.
I wonder if it was mic'd appropriately.
I enjoyed it nonetheless.
