Phil Hendrie Dropped from KFI

(February 7, 2005) After almost a decade with KFI, Phil Hendrie has been dropped from the station roster, according to KFI pd Robin Bertolucci. The John Ziegler Show will move into the 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. slot followed by George Noory until 5 a.m. Phil moves to KLAC 570AM, the new home for XTRA Sports.

Phil's show is syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks, which is owned by Clear Channel. KFI and KLAC are also part of the Clear Channel/LA cluster.

Yes, Noory does have some relatively sane people on, but not many. And then there are the ones who start out sounding sane and suddenly Whoosh! right off the deep end.

I listen to WIND in Chicago now - all political talk.

I listen to WIND 560 out of Chicago. Overnight is Hugh Hewitt, Mike Gallagher and Ernie Brown. I enjoy all of them.

They are using a 200 foot emergency antenna, broadcasting at 25Kw

In reading Lacan and his descriptions of how to be a proper psychoanalyst I find that Coast has an apparently unlimited supply of examples of every kind of fixation there is. The trick is to judge whether the story is for real or if the caller or guest is just playing. Art is good at identifying the ones with a real problem, and George is, too. Art has even taken some of the real ones off the air and continued contact privately as befits his emergency medical responder background. I don't know why it is so much fun to act like cases late at night, but listening to people claiming to be vampires or abductees or in the know on Area 51 or HAARP is a hoot.

Hey...there's no thread for this but I wanted to let you know I just got my sorry-but letter from Echostar. New York channels are going bye-bye in April. Bastards.

Was never interested in Art Bell until I heard the Phil Hendrie imitation. After that started listening to and enjoying Bell.

Bell is a radio great because of his talent, voice and broadcasting ability. The content is just that . . . content.

General Johnson Jameson getting caught in Hurricane Ivan is a classic.

"Pound for pound, Hendrie's show is the best thing going on night time radio. He's smart, provocative, funny 75% of the time he means to be, and the most original thing going on radio. Plus he had the guts to stand up to all his lib-left callers over the Iraq war and the re-election of President Bush."

Couldn't agree more. I first learned of his show from Drudge and have been hooked for about 3 years.

I have a feeling Steve Bosell will be contacting Dolores Blasingame, esq. of Riverside California to bring suit for the pain and suffering this is causing him (and perhaps it has hurt business at B&B Construction).

When I saw your handle, I thought you might actually be Phil! The first time I heard Hendrie was right after Y2K. He was interviewing Steve Bosell, who was suing all his neighbors for laughing at him for having hoarded generators, water, and Duncan Hines cake mix.

I thought it was real, at first, but had it figured out by the second night.

I've been able to watch New York City's network television for the last eight years or more (paying extra), in addition to Los Angeles'. After April 17, 2005, that will no longer be the case. This is the end for me & Echostar/Dish Network. DirecTV has a ton more high-def options. I hate to punish Echostar for the retarded actions of those in congress, but what else can I do. Their programming is now inferior by comparison.

Bastards!

Sorry! Nothing puts me to sleep when I have insomnia, probably not even Err America. I don't think you'll hear any leftwing commercials because that's the point in why Clear Channel puts them on the air. They PAY Clear Channel to carry the packet of shows (courtesy of Soros and some half wit couple with lots more money than brains and some of the Dem's other $ people.) In the markets where Clear Channel owns a number of stations, they can just take the $ from these fools and not have to worry about selling ads or hiring a sales staff, etc. for one of their stations and since they aren't selling commercials, they probably don't care what the ratings are either.

I hope he does not try to make up the money by doing more BS huckster garbage for diet pills. If you sell snake oil, does that make you a snake oil salesman?

Thanks! I will give them a try to see if I can get them. Probably unlikely since 570 (KBN) in Youngstown 50,000 watts is very close to me and unfortunately not only comes in LOUD and clear but also carries Hendrie followed by Coast to Coast!

Coast to Coast is for the few Americans left who haven't yet figured out that Sean David Morton can't do simple card tricks, let alone peer into the future with any accuracy whatsoever.
