If human being were monogamous they would have ONE mate in their lifetime. What we practice is serial monogamy, usually, with a significant minority that does not even extend their mates that courtesy. Truly monogamous humans are extremely rare.

Monogamy is really NOT that rare. We just don't hear or talk about it as much, maybe because the subject is boring.
People would rather gossip about who's zooming who, than who isn't....that's all.
