How about Troy Aikman? All he did was to win THREE Super Bowl rings in four years. Tom Brady has just equalled that feat. What about them?
I gotta give props to T.O. - even if he IS an Eagle. He played his heart out in that game. Had the other "superstars" on the Eagles team played with half the heart he did, the Eagles would have won, and would have deserved it...
Don't even compare Brady with Warner. Warner was a "flash in the pan" a one-trick pony. If Brady had the same kind of offense in Indianapolis, he would match Peyton Manning TD pass for TD pass (and fewer interceptions). He adjusts to the game, and he'll beat you in different ways every week.
Sucked? He threw for 380+ yards and 3 TDs. He also made a couple costly mistakes--enough to cost him a close game.
If the Pats had lost by 3, people would be berating Brady for fumbling a simple hand-off in the red zone.
Eagles played with plenty of heart (just not with a lot of brains in the last 5 minutes). But credit belongs to New England, they had just a little more.
Great point. The great QB's all step up when things are looking bad. With a guy like Montana on the field the opposing team knew being two TD's ahead with two minutes to go the games was not over.
McNabb has rarely show that sort of talent.
Wasn't Kearse the one trying to hold Vrabel but still couldn't keep him from making a great TD grab?
I'd compare Brady with Troy Aikman during the Dalls run last decade -- neither one is flashy or puts up gaudy numbers, they're just ruthlessly efficient and know how to play within themselves and the situation.
Brady is now officially a great quarterback and IMHO up there with the greats of all time.

That "flop-the second-time" chart is for baseball. In football, the team that lost the superbowl has often won the next year.
Yeah, that last five minutes... man, I was sitting there, as a Pats fan, and I almost had this feeling that the Eagles were not even trying anymore... I felt almost sad... almost...
You cant argue with 130 yards recieving on a broken ankle.
I always love the story of Montana just before he lead the Niners on their winning TD drive against the Bengals. He gets into the huddle for the first play of the drive and says, "Hey isn't that John Candy down there at the end zone." If he was that calm, was there any doubt from anyone in that huddle that he was going to get it done?

Not enough hydration/electrolyte replacement. The flu hit Tom Brady the weekend of the Steelers playoff. They had him on IV in his hotel room the night before that game. Also, Jacksonville was a tad warmer than Pittsburgh, which would exacerbate dehydration. The Eagles should have been chugging Gator Ade throughout the game.
Brady has some sort of intangible working for him that doesn't come through in the stats.
The lesson here is a teams with 2 "playa's" ( McNabb/Owens, Vikes with Culpepper/Moss ) cannot beat a team that plays like one. The 70's Steelers, 80's Cowboys, 90's 49ers, all had stars, but they were teams that played as teams.
The Eagles are not a team in that sense.
