TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran would both retaliate and accelerate its drive to master nuclear technology if the United States or Israel attacked its atomic facilities, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator warned on Sunday. Hassan Rohani, secretary-general of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, also told Reuters there was nothing the West could offer Tehran that would persuade it to scrap a nuclear program which Washington fears may be used to make bombs. Asked about a possible attack by the United States or Israel, which have both said a nuclear-armed Iran would be unacceptable, Rohani said: "If such an attack (against Iran's atomic facilities) takes place then of course we will retaliate and we will definitely accelerate our activities to complete our (nuclear) fuel cycle." Speaking in a rare interview, Rohani said Iran's ability to produce its own nuclear parts had made it "invulnerable" to attack since it could simply rebuild whatever was destroyed. "But I do not think the United States itself will take such a risk ... They know our capabilities for retaliating against such attacks," the mid-ranking cleric added. |

It is inevitable and it won't be long now... Iran and Syria are going down this year.
Then we will just have to "accelerate" the demise of the Iranian regime.
Just guessing, but it seems these attacks never come off as predicted. I have a feeling that one day in Iran there will be dozens of simultaneous explosions that destroy their facilities, cortesy of demolition teams that have infiltrated the state, with local help, as opposed to jet attacks. Just a guess...
Another despotic Islamo-fascist regime threatening to teach the US a military lesson. * yawn *
If Iran retaliated against us forcefully, they would cease to exist.
The question is, can they accelerate it faster than E=MC2?
Talk is cheap, islamonazis. We have intel-boots on the ground and Israel has been green-lighted. Better dig-in much deeper than you scumbags are now, 'cause it's about to get messy.
Yep - 90 minutes from launch detection to obliteration.
Sadly we might wait for detonation before launch. OK, 102 minutes from launch detection to obliteration.
M.A.D. is real.
How would one go about accelerating a program that has just become a smoking crater?
Bring it on Iran...Bring it on...
Who knows the airtime from Tel Aviv to ground zero?
It's no 90 minutes.
I feel that Israel will be the ones to do the job and we will be there to back them up.
Let me see if I have this straight. Iran is threatening the U.S even thought it doesnt now have an atomic bomb? So what will they do when they get it? Send us a dozen roses for not interfering?
Rohani is sounding a lot like Saddam, "But I do not think the United States itself will take such a risk ... They know our capabilities for retaliating against such attacks,". Hey, Rohni, where is Saddam now, thanks to our brave and patriotic military? You dont spit into the wind; you dont pull the mask off the oLone Ranger, and you dont mess around with Americas military might.
At the present time everyone is denying any intention to attack Iran. That is a mistake because as sure as I am sitting here in my pajamas, if the U.S. decides to use military force, the democrats are going to say the Bush administration lied. They are going to come up with a mole in the government who will produce contingency plans, preparedness plans, on some sheet of yellow legal pad paper to show that Secretary Rice was lying.
Of course the U.S. has a plan to deal with Iran that includes a military response. Remember this is not the Clinton administration; once again we actually have competent people in the Whitehouse who know how to fight against evil empires.
Meanwhile the EU members are wringing their hands? They must be afraid, but afraid of what? Attack? Or maybe they are concerned about their economies, which if the oil-for-food program is any indication, they have much to gain from Irans continued construction of production facilities.
According to WorldNetDaily, the European Union announced that economic negotiations with Iran will resume on Jan. 12, 2005.The focus of the January economic talks with the European Union will be oil.[1]
So what else can we expect from the libs? The next they will be saying that Halliburton is drilling to help the Iranians produce nuclear weapons.
