I'm not so sure about that: yes, it'll definitely move the Dims much further to the Left, but in the process, it will also move the GOP Leftward in the long run--tho to a smaller degree.
Consider how the Rpublican Party has become a big government party over the last several decades...esp. since the days of Barry Goldwater: how many w/in the GOP's leadership ever question the constitutionality of federal involvement in education, welfare, transportation, etc.?
Wasn't there actually a time when a few members w/in the GOP actually called for ABOLISHING the Dept. of Education (& how many say so today)?
As the Dims go, so goes the Republicans.
