Actually, I tend to agree with you - in body language it's a defensive posture which says - you can't come in - it's rigid - and it's intended to repulse attackers.
It's also used as an "I can't be moved from my position" stance. Which is what I believe Fred uses it as. He knows what he believes and he's willing to take a stand over it.

Strategy based on the truth beats strategy based on fantasy ideology.
(especially without an oligopoly in the media to defend and reinforce the fantasy ideology)

I tend to agree with you. They are so arrogant they just cannot believe anybody else has brains enough to do things better than them. It will be their undoing.
And for some strange reason, I just can't feel sorry for them.
I remember the first Bush's presideny fairly well. I sure don't remember that. Some examples, please.
W. is the one who fired John Sununu as the senior Bush's chief of staff in 1993. He played a similar role in the first Bush's campaign organization, but I don't recall names off-hand.
