Well, Fred tends to stammer when he talks. He has a very good insight, especially when prodded by Mort.

Thank you, Fred, for this delicious account. We're all sitting here with our arms crossed in front of our chests in triumph.

Dubya ROCKS.

After months of trouble--beginning with the emergence in 2003 of a strong insurgency in Iraq and abetted by the failure to find WMD--Bush is once again in a strong position, politically and otherwise. The trend line of his presidency has been jagged. The line was flat in his first eight months in the White House, then it skyrocketed after 9/11, before drifting downward until he produced a strong Republican performance in the 2002 midterm election. Then it soared again during the war in Iraq, only to plummet as postwar turmoil set in. Following his reelection, the trajectory of the Bush presidency is again upward, buoyed by successful elections in Afghanistan and Iraq, a memorable inaugural address, and an effective State of the Union.
Hmm. These "jags" are really the consequence of the activities of partisan media shills. It was magnanimous indeed for the president to uphold the tradition, and amusing that none of the anchors seems to have gotten his joke -- when he wondered why he was doing this. ;')

Tell us more. I find it hard to imagine Krauthammer and Tony Snow not being in tune about anything.

Yes. Fred's spoken message is often diluted by his stammering way of speaking. He's much more effective in print.

The pair, along with Senator Edward Kennedy and possibly Howard Dean as the next Democratic national chairman, are viewed as less than formidable.

Now that's an understatement!

Funny how an article on Social Security, after just a few posts, turns into a TV personality contest.

Another guest said critics fear Bush will try to bring down every tyrant in the world. Bush replied, sarcastically, that he didn't believe that was a criticism.

What a great response! Not bad for an "dunce".

Or as Arnold would have put it "Vy would I want to listen to looosers." What a great pair!

BTW, has anybody else noticed that since the inauguration and the Iraqi election, the MSM is showing a lot more respect for W, especially the body language?

Yes, I have noticed that very thing. It's very obvious, isn't it? Some very dense people are apparently starting to wake up and smell the coffee.

These "jags" are really the consequence of the activities of partisan media shills.

In large part, they are.

Those first 8 months of 'flatlining' were mostly due to the delayed election results of 2000... tax-cut opposition and cabinet-appointee deliberations. The press pushed the notion that he was 'selected'... not elected.

The MSM has functioned as a 'third party' throughout his presidency. It will continue to do so whenever a Republican, or conservative of any ilk, resides in the White House.

I also think Fred benefits from Mort. Too often conservatives talk to each other these days because liberals are just so stupid and reactionary. I could go on Hannity and Colmes as a liberal because I know what their response will be to everything. But Mort is thoughtful and not a knee-jerker. Fred can certainly hold his own, but it helps to have Mort around for Fred to make good arguments.

The president walked over to Rather(Wallace followed) and said... “Hi Dan... you 'gonna be retiring in Austin?”
And Wallace added that The President said: "I am going to retire to Austin in FOUR YEARS." Double sweet

I don't think W is cold... he always just seems to let them know that it's nothing HE's doing to THEM, but that they're going to have to live with the consequences of his behavior. Just like a good parent.

Dick Morris called him the Mohammed Ali of American Politics. While I think the analogy may be unfortunate, it is rather accurate in that he seems to win whatever he takes on. We trust he won't end up like Ali.
