My question - What was the landlord doing in the apartment? Another one, what was the neighbor involved for?

I'm sorry, as weird as this is, I don't see how it's anybody's business to check out your "decor" and report to ANYBODY on it.

There are laws concerning landlord access to your apartment, need, notice, etc., if he wasn't in there for a particular reason, he could be charged as well. How did this happen? That's what I'd like to know.

It might depend on the state. When I lived in Baton Rouge, as the lease came up, the landlord notified me that they would be showing the apt between such and such time on such and such days and wouldn't you know it? They'd knock three times and come walking in via the master key.
