That crap happens all the time. Rather than do a little work, the lazy cops will just arrest based on one persons word. The DA's know how lazy the cops are and don't want to see their jurisdiction sued. So they offer a sweet no jail time, $50.oo misdemeanor plea, and the dumb guy goes for it. But the catch is once you plea to anything, your barred for suing to protect your rights.
Most people don't have access to $30,000 so they have to go along.
Trust me I was in the business for twenty years and had to train a lot of cops to be investigators, not chumps for P.O'd lovers.

I feel sorry for both of the men in this case. And I hope that the psycho female dog pays for what she's done. However, I do have to wonder how much unstable behavior the guy overlooked during the relationship because he was getting laid regularly by what he considered a "hottie".

I with you there. Most (but not all) of the people I knew who majored in Psychology in college were looking for answers to their own problems. Once they graduate, they get work in the mental health/social work field and are still messed up.

Many people are in the mental health field working on other people's 'issues' so they can avoid working on their own.

Anyone that flies false charges against someone needs to receive the same sentence as someone who is guilty of them.
