Moves are underway for the creation of an independent GLBT state off the coast of Australia, with plans for the new nation to demand recognition before the United Nations.
Gay and lesbian activists formed the “Gay & Lesbian Kingdom of the Coral Sea Islands” in June last year after the Australian government passed legislation banning same-sex marriage and stripping same-sex couples of civil rights.
The activists are now working on a submission to present to the United Nations that will bring Australia before the International Court of Justice, in order to compel the country to recognize the new state as an independent nation, on the grounds that under the current laws of Australia its gay and lesbian citizens are an “oppressed people, ruled by an overseas colonial power (Australia) and therefore because the Coral Sea Islands are a colony/territory of Australia, inhabited exclusively by the Gay Tribe, by the laws of the United Nations and its charter the Gay Kingdom has the right to self determination.”
The group appear to be serious about creating a new country for GLBT “refugees” worldwide, despite the Coral Sea Islands only possessing a total land area of less than 3 square kilometres. The Gay Government has already issued passports and postage stamps to raise revenue for building infrastructure.
After establishement of this “gay homeland”, it is intended that “our nation will welcome GLBT refugees from around the world like Israel does for Jews”, say organisers.
Have they done all the proper geological, biological and habitat studies? Sounds to me like they are planning to build on a precious visual resource, home to many native fish, birds and turtles.

I doubt it. We're going to have to fight them tooth and nail just to make sure the sanctimony of marriage is preserved for future generations.
One of the problems is that the media gives them more attention then they merit. How many news articles have you seen today countering this crap with the views of the vast majority of people?

I desperately hope this is true. I have long advocated a homeland, or quarentine, where the sodomites can go live.
Supply them with the Spartan (yuk, yuk) essentials and let them forge their own society. If they only want to don grass skirts and corn-hole themselves into oblivion, well, that's OK by me. If they want to form a society that contributes to a global economy, well, we all have computers so downloading CAD images is small potatoes and the interior design sector of the economy won't suffer.
A nice warm locale seems just the place for our parasol-adorned-tropical-drink sucking friends would florish. Three cheers for the 'down-under' homeland!
