Can you imagine if he, lunatic would have pushed Russians back to their border?

At what cost? 50,000 American lives, 100,000 lives? More? What price was too much? Old blood and guts didn't seem too concerned with that aspect of things. But hey, wouldn't he have looked cool parading around Red Square with his ivory handle revolvers? In order "not to be blessed with Communism" we would have had to go not just to their borders, but to Moscow. I agree we could have, no should have, held firmer to keep the Soviets out of Eastern Europe, but invading and going to Moscow after 4 years of bloody war that cost over a half million lives would be madness. Yet, this is what old "blood and guts" wanted to do.

Curious that you mention "50,000" lives. Seems to me we have a wall in Washington with that many names on it that might have been avoided had Patton been taken seriously. I am not saying he was right, but you might want to be a little more objective in your criticism. You claim the price of Patton's vision was too great. It appears to me we ended up paying it anyway.

I said, back to their border. Just telling them to back off from Eastern Europe and mind their business within their borders. Not to sell out Europe at Yalta (thanks politicians!).
