The part I don't get is How can a case move forward that will investigate the legality/illegality of votes, when the county auditors and canvassing boards have been removed from the suit?
It doesn't make sense.

They haven't been. They are still subject to subpoenas and testimony.

The case just didn't need 40 lawyers in the room. Getting rid of the county lawyers makes the case more manageable.
