Real American Indians Upset with Ward Churchill
AMERICAN INDIAN MOVEMENT GRAND GOVERNING COUNCIL MINISTRY FOR IN ^ | February 5, 2005 | American Indian Movement

Posted on 02/03/2005 8:12:46 PM PST by huac

"The sorry part of this is Ward Churchill has fraudulently represented himself as an Indian, and a member of the American Indian Movement, a situation that has lifted him into the position of a lecturer on Indian activism. He has used the American Indian Movement’s chapter in Denver to attack the leadership of the official American Indian Movement with his misinformation and propaganda campaigns...Ward Churchill has been masquerading as an Indian for years behind his dark glasses and beaded headband. He waves around an honorary membership card that at one time was issued to anyone by the Keetoowah Tribe of Oklahoma. Former President Bill Clinton and many others received these cards, but these cards do not qualify the holder a member of any tribe. He has deceitfully and treacherously fooled innocent and naïve Indian community members in Denver, Colorado, as well as many other people worldwide. Churchill does not represent, nor does he speak on behalf of the American Indian Movement..."

She would kill me if I sent her story off to OReilley.

I didn't send anything or say anything, so if they read this thread, it would be generic, and you are anonymous here.

Orville Shell became the Department Head of UC Berkeley's School of Journalism with only a masters (not in journalism) I believe. Michael Savage sued them over the appointment.

I was struck by the rest of the faculty,,good degrees, phd's. How did this phoney get in charge is what I want to know. There is another poster on FR who has personal experience with Churchhill. He pretty much says noone would listen to his complaints about him. Interesting,,I wanta see this guy lose his job whatever it was other than prancing around like those people in the 60's did seducing young kids to their crazy causes.

You might be interested in this thread from last night: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1334706/posts .

It has the letter from AIM and also some info on Churchill's military service claims. A couple of posters were checking into his supposed Viet Nam service as well as his thesis (checking for plagiarism).

I don't know if they're still working on it, but it would be a pity to let this story disappear.

Oh not to worry! I would talk to OReilley and remain anonymous. I might just call CU and tell them OReilley had called me.

I do hate to bash CU,,it was a great place for her and we loved most of the people she had as teachers.

Ol Flagg's got more than a few pints of Cherokee Apache.

Arms balder than a baby's butt.

"Churchill's military service claims. A couple of posters were checking into his supposed Viet Nam service as well as his thesis (checking for plagiarism)..."

A currently prominent Leftie with irregularities in his Viet Nam service record. Hmm, that sounds vaguely familiar...

Here's more info. on AIM. Would like Mr. Churchill to meet my wife (who was born & raised on Crow Agency, MT.) so they could discuss their similar 'background'. Nothing burns her more than "instant Indians".

Somehow I knew you would have some wisdom on this situation.

LOL at the CAIR comment...

Several of the posts here reminded me of that meeting last year to which you invited me.

Especially the young lady that got an F for her paper, cajungirl's daughter.

cajungirl, I went to a meeting last year that mirrors what you daughter wrote in her dissertation. It was put on by the American Indians For Accountability.

Dr. David Yagley was there and gave a great deal of insight into what your daughter researched.

Check out the links if you are interested. The first Indian Urban-Area Casino is being planned for our sleepy little community, the Board has been properly bought out and it looks like a go.

Your daughter was so right, a lot of offshore companies (Indonesia, Africa) as well as Las Vegas interests are backing the Casinos. They rip off the Indians to the tune of about 1/2 the income.

There is much more to this. I will post a thread about the meeting in the near future.

Demnomo, thanks for your comments and the inspiration that the American Indians for Accountability are providing.

While researching my geneology, I learned that I am 1/32 Wampanog Indian....on my father's side....I bet I have more Indian in me than traitor Churchill. And I definitely know I'm more American.

Want to start a casino?

No, my luck is so bad, my "house" would be the only casino in history to end up having the deck stacked in favor of the patrons.... : )
