More than three million people have lost their lives in central African wars in recent years while the world has stood by doing virtually nothing. Now the slaughter is set to escalate once again. In an effort to prevent free elections in the Congo and secure its ongoing plunder of natural resources, Rwanda is doing its best to aggravate clashes among local militias.

Rwanda, yes. But France and the UN bear some of the responsibility. The Congo has been a killing ground, off and on, for as long as I can remember. Certainly back to the days of Patrice Lumumba.
France not only has stirred things up because of greed over mineral rights and the like, but France and other European nations trained that generation of African leaders in the virtues of Socialism.
Pol Pot was French educated, too.
