No one should be allowed to post without reading the article...which in this case says that the Senator asked and received permission to speak in Spanish for the record, along with an English translation.

What was the point of speaking spanish when he is in an english speaking country? He should NOT have been given permission to speak spanish. The senate isn't his house.

Doesn't matter. The govt should conduct all its business in English. I would have objected and not allowed him to do it. The Senate has its traditions, and I am not sure if others have been allowed to speak in a foreign language.
