"Can you imagine a world with Bill as the UN Secretary-General, and Hitlery as President? HELL ON EARTH." I think I would have to volunteer for space station duty, or agree to go help colonize the moon.
To: pookie18
This will never happen. In fact, in the future, the RNC should run ads touting Kerry's dishonorable discharge if he cannot prove it because he has not signed the 180.

Meet the Press Transcript for
April 18, 2004 Guest: Sen. John Kerry, D-MA, presidential candidate
NBC News
Updated: 11:47 a.m. ET April 18, 2004
...
MR. RUSSERT: The Boston Globe reports that your commanding officer, Lieutenant Commander Grant Hibberd has suggested that you perhaps didn't earn your first Purple Heart and question whether you should have left Vietnam after six months. In order to deal with those kinds of issues, when I asked President Bush about his service in the Texas Guard, he agreed to release all his military records, health records, everything.
Would you agree to release all your military records?
SEN. KERRY:
I have. I've shown them--they're available to you to come and look at. I think that's a very unfair characterization by that person. I mean, politics is politics. The medical records show that I had shrapnel removed from my arm. We were in combat. We were in a very, very--probably one of the most frightening--if you ask anybody who was with me, the two guys who were with me, was probably the most frightening night that they had that they were in Vietnam and we're...
MR. RUSSERT:
But you'll make all your records public.
SEN. KERRY:
They are. People can come and see them at headquarters and take a look at them. I'm not going to--but I'll tell you this. I'm proud of my service. I'm proud of what we did. I know what happened. And the Navy 35 years ago made a decision and it's the Navy's decision and I think it was the right decision.

The Junior Senator from Massachusetts is still hedging and nuancing.

Yes, that's actually what I heard to when come right down to it. It was a less than honorable. What I can't understand is how the democrats were able to get (leak) additional records of Bush and Cheney and others. You mean there's a file of papers somewhere on Kerry, and there's no one with any inside access who can leak them?

After reading the press release by Judicial Watch, I called his
office and asked when he would sign the form. I had called Monday morning after his appearance on Meet the Press. They didn't know at that time at all when it would occur, and were not familiar with what I was referring to. This morning after they had me on hold for about twenty minutes, I spoke to a spokesman who said that what Kerry
actually said was that he would sign it once the 527s did. I explained that I saw the program Sunday and have read the
transcript and that wasn't what he said. The only thing resembling anything about the 527s was when immediately after Kerry said that he would sign it, with no conditions, was that he called on those who "challenged" him to see their records.
To: TomGuy; All
Kerry is nuancing -- 'all the records he had received' -- implies that Kerry has NOT requested that ALL records be made available to him, but ONLY ones he requested have been made available.Yes, you're absolutely right. In just 15 seconds he weasled three times:
"they sent some more stuff, which had some things that weren't even relevant to the record."
What could be in the record that isn't relevant? It's all in the record, therefore it's all relevant.
"I'm going to sit down with them and make sure that they are clear and I am clear as to what is in the record and what isn't in the record and we'll put it out."
Who is "them"?
And again, it's all "in the record." No need to sit down, no need to look, no need to "be clear." Just hand over the file.
"everything that was out was a full documentation of all of the medical records, all of the fitness reports"
That's like saying the DD-214 is "full documentation" of the DD-214. It's a meaningless statement.
What's being asked for is the entire file that is responsive to the 180, without editing, without "clarifying," without censorship.
What's obvious is that Kerry intends to somhow scrub whatever materials are delivered, and its clear he know exactly what those "not relevant" documents are.

Here's an idea: An SF180 Signing Event. Have Kerry list the names of all who he is insisting must sign their 180, then Kerry and all those people show up in the same place at the appointed time. and they all sign together and send the forms in to where ever they have to be sent.
Invite the media to watch. It'd be fun. They could have cake and cookies afterward.

Kerry's pen will be mysteriously filled with disappearing ink.

I spoke to a spokesman who said that what Kerry actually said was that he would sign it once the 527s did. What he really meant is that he'll sign the 180 after all 40,000 contributors to SWIFTvets sign theirs.
