Yes, I had heard of some rumor that he was given a pair of cowboy boots from an unknown source that had a sharp object in the tip of the boot, which therefore had cut the toe that had later developed cancer. Marley thought it was a set-up to kill him, paranoid or not, and felt that the boot injury was the cause of the cancer. This was around the time Mick Jagger and Peter Tosh were tight if I recall correctly. But who knows, someone tried to kill him before???
I recently visited my doctor and showed him a darkening under a toenail. He looked at it and decided it was just some blood, but he hid tell me that cancer developing under a toenail, while not common, does happen.
Further, he said that it is extemely rare among caucasions.
Someone should alert Jesse and Al about this racist form of cancer!

IMO smoking large amounts of weed on a daily basis was a major cause of Bob Marley's cancer.

Skin cancer in a toe...IS unusual though.
He had a cancer on his toe which he ignored and it spread to the rest of his body.

His father died young also. Who know what was in Norval Marley's background anyway? Toe cancer isn't caused by smoking weed. I work with a lot of Jamaican rastas and the biggest problem with the heavy tokers is phlegm in the lungs which usually disappears when they use fronto leaf instead of white bleached rolling papers. Most have stopped smoking since I put it into their minds that weed makes a man limp over time :D

I have seen plenty of middle aged chronics with vastly lowered libido and the resultant erectile issues. I have a friend who is a urologist here and he sees it as a common thread but to my knowledge, there is little data on it.
