Bowl Week Beacon For Escorts (Prostitutes Invade Jax For Super Bowl)

A far-reaching web of trade is expected to come here for the Super Bowl -- one police wish wasn't and can do little about.

Internet message boards rating hot spots for finding sex for cash have been rife with Jacksonville references lately, and hotel reservations for prostitutes are booked.

The so-called oldest profession is expected to be invading hotel rooms across the city throughout the week. Men have been lining up women -- and some men -- for weeks, some for more than $2,000 an hour.

As far as the escorts are concerned, this is the perfect chance to meet men who may not be with their family, have enough money to get a ticket and are trying to find companionship. For some, that means a date. For others, it means paid sex.

"The calls from guys keep coming in for [Super Bowl] week," said Angel, an escort from South Florida who asked her last name not be used for fear of arrest. "I've got appointments each night."

This is her first Super Bowl as an escort. Since the beginning of the year, the calls have been regular and fees have risen for time around Sunday's game.

Some callers are looking for a one-hour fling. Others are willing to pay for the whole night. Once she put her Internet advertisement out, her call card was filled in days and the cost for the trip was compensated. Her normal $250 an hour rate shot up to $325 to accommodate the travel and because of the Super Bowl demand.

"It's the perfect environment" for escort services, she said. "Lonely guys needing comfort."

Lexi, a Tampa-based escort who also asked that her last name not be used, said men will pay her flight, hotel stays and her regular fee of $300 an hour.

One consequence in Jacksonville is that those caught run the chance of having their picture published in the Victims' Advocate, a publication of the Justice Coalition, under the headline "Shame, shame, shame."

The vice officers say they're watching the net, and a prostitute says she's being careful to screen her prospective clients so she doesn't get busted by an undercover cop. Risky business, as always...

Shameful! Men getting paid millions of dollars to roll around on the ground in tight embraces with other men.

But enough about the game...:^)

Whenever we have some lame-ass politician telling us about what great "economic benefit" we will derive from having our pockets picked to build yet another new stadium, they always leave this part out.
