Absolutely. As a matter of fact, during the initial installation it prompts you to see if want to do so.
Also, you may import bookmarks at any time.
Perhaps the best part of FF besides the enhanced security are the "extensions", that allow you to do such things as block ads and create mouse gestures to accomplish tasks. It's WONDERFUL!
Firefox has no mail server....Thunderbird handles that.
Ahhh. That makes more sense. I've heard mixed reviews about Thunderbird. I haven't tried it myself yet.
I'd personally love to be so "passe"...especially if I could get five minutes with the family checkbook...
FireFox Roxs!
We used MS Word to create a webpage for our local fire station and posted some jpg photos and forms. Guess what? MS IE don't get along with MS Word and refused to display them, while FireFox and Netscape and others had no problem. What's up with that? (Of course, it could be something I did wrong.)
Anywho.... I LOVE FireFox and Mozilla Thunderbird. Got them thanks to a thread posted by a freeper.
There is a Firefox extension that may help with some Websites.
I honestly can't think of a one, other than getting used to a new browser.
I put FF on both home computers during a June-July hijack, and haven't looked back.
FF does things a little differently ( think, "right-click," to see more menus & options. ) but the extensions ( like plug-ins ) are nicely customizable, and use little system resources. An equivalent of IE's "view partial source" is built-in, so you can read & copy snippets of HTML for links, pictures, and coding.
I only use IE to load windows updates. FF rocks.
But I can't seem to find it now....not sure what the name is....
Need help with that.
you wanna fix that? You seem to be the only one that I've encountered with that problem, at least that couldn't easily fix it.
I must say I find all this anti-Microsoft business somewhat tiresome. Internet Explorer works fine for me. I started out with a Netscape browser in an early beta version (0.7 or something), and followed along with it for years. But IE wiped the floor with it. I don't see the point of returning to the bother of having several browsers on my computer, as I did for several years.
CSS is the solar power of Web Development.
That's a slogan that'll leave a mark...
Microsoft, your platform for spyware and viruses.
backhoe, I'm on IE and absolutely hate their favorites. I was allowed to alphabetize only one time, and after that I have to sort out a few hundred favorites with the mouse. It takes forever. If I switch to FF, and attempt to save my favorites, will I still have the IE favorites system to cotend with, or will FF switch the favs to THEIR system of storing them?
yawn...ever more firefox hype
How many times can this story be re-written?
I don't get malware from either browser.
