That was based on a true story. There's a book about it--As Nature Made Him: The boy Who was Raised as a Girl. I've never read the book but have always wanted to get it. The boy, an adult, recently died a year or so ago. He had a very sad life from what I have heard. I'm not sure if he killed himself or not. Seems like he was having financial troubles. It was all to do with some psychiatrist or psychologist who wanted to experiment on him basically. He talked his naive parents into going along with it.
This happened many years ago in Canada. Some sex therupist talked them into raising him as a her. It caused alot of emotional problems. I think he committed suicide within the past 2 years.
