It's about time for this happen. I wonder why it took nearly 2 years, nothing takes that long.
I wonder if the media will report on this as much as the saga of Jessica Lynch.

I wonder why it took nearly 2 years, nothing takes that long. You're joking, but people who aren't familiar with the military might not get your humor.
Last year I was at a ceremony to award a bronze star to a soldier from the Battle of the Bulge -- about 60 years after the fact. This is not very unusual, unfortunately.

But then, in a move that baffled and angered Smith's men, the Bradley left.
This evil vehicle must be related to the murderous SUVs stateside.
Seriously, the Bradley didnt just leave, the driver drove it away. Were his actions ever adequately explained?

President Bush to award first Medal of Honor in Iraq War. Pinging you to a story that should get much wider notice on FR than it has so far.

Please note that the recipient of this award is/was a Combat Engineer - 11 Engineer BN.
He was not Infantry, nor Armor, nor Field Artillery, nor Special Forces.
He was an Engineer.
I'm tired of Engineers not getting the credit that we duly deserve.
I'm sad that this soldier had to die while earning this honor. It does, however, highlight the fact that Engineers can fight and die valiantly too.
Sorry for the rant.
Essayons!

He was in Bravo Company, 11th Engineers, the "Bulldogs." That's the company that supported 3-7 Infantry when I was in 3-7. Good bunch of guys, they really came through for us.

"Good bunch of guys, they really came through for us."
Thanks.
That's what all of us Engineers try to do- to come through and help fight the good fight.
