That's a good point.
Maybe they wanted to create some bad news after the great day on Sunday. They didn't have the time or opportunity to kidnap an actual person, so.....
But they didn't count on FR. :) It amazes me that it was only within about 15 posts that the Freeper (was it Black Rain?) caught the connection with the doll.
If it hadn't been for FR, I wonder how long that story would have been out there?
