Thanks........ but I didn't asked about gun grabbing... instead it was about

....La Raza background you alluded to

....Pro Choice

....Speaking on the Senate floor

You provided nothing about his La Raza backgound

Your pro choice support was from the discredited Peroutka's couple of comments about him answering a question that he believed in 'settled law'..... sorry but that is the way it is..

So I'm led to believe you have nothing from the mouth of Judge Gonzales to support your assertions..... Correct?

I called Durbin's office and reminded them that Daniel Pearl was beheaded before we went into Iraq so it could hardly be our treatment of the terrorists in Iraq who caused that crime.

Suggested he stop sticking up for the terrorists against our troops who are doing an amazing job.

I think so, "pal".

#1 I'm not black, #2, I'm not "mau-mauing" myself, #3 the Mau Maus were Kikuyus from East Africa not Zulus from South Africa.

Not only are you inaccurate and historically challenged, you are also a bigot.

You've been given the link to the CNN article, but you refuse to acknowledge the facts.

And the CNN article quotes him as supporting the stinkin' ban! I'm not trying to be difficult, but what am I missing here? Can you please quote the part of the CNN article that suggests that he is not a gun-grabber?

I made it quite clear in prior posts that I support Bush's policies on the war on terror and in Iraq. I also think he was correct in lowering taxes.

Everyone wants lower taxes. Hell, I know quite a few Democrats in town who say they are paying way too damn much in state and federal taxes. I've found in most cases those who want higher taxes are generally people on welfare.

I grade you an "F" on being able to read what you are talking aboout.

Irrelevant and unoriginal.

The La Raza comment came from Michele Malkin.

And no, I have nothing from Gonzales' mouth - I don't speak with him personally, I get my information from other people and this what other sources are stating about him, hardly liberal ones.

So, if you have anything from Gonzales mouth you can present to refute these claims, I am willing to check out the sources.

Michele Malkin on the O'Reilly factor stated that Gonzales is a high level official with La Raza.

Can you provide a link to that position that he holds with La Raza..... not some assertion by Malkin who doesn't support her claim.....

I'll await your documentation....

It is a lie that he is a high-ranking official with La Raza. Whether Malkin said it or you misinterpreted it, it is a lie.

He is not pro-abortion. He interpreted ONE law that the Texas legislature wrote; it is not his fault that the legislature didn't write the law correctly. He could not, as a judge, re-write the law. He was not an activist judge.

Try reading and dissecting the first paragraph a bit slower.

"When asked if his own personal feelings about abortion would play a role in his decisions," Gonzales replied "that his 'own personal feelings about abortion don't matter.'"

Gonzales told the newspaper, "The question is, what is the law, what is the precedent, what is binding in rendering your decision. Sometimes, interpreting a statute, you may have to uphold a statute that you may find personally offensive. But as a judge, that's your job."

I don't have a link. I have what Malkin stated about Gonzales on the O'Reilly Factor last week when the issue of illegal invaders came up.

Here's a clue, Gonzalez, if given the job of AG, cannot extend something that has already expired. The AWB expired last September..

All of that can be ascertained in the very FIRST paragraph from the CNN article.

You have the rest of the afternoon to go find a transcript. When you find one, start a thread.

Attorney General nominee Alberto Gonzales told the Senate on Tuesday that he supports extending the expired federal assault weapons ban.

snip

"I worry about his safety and the types of weapons he will confront on the street," Gonzales said. "The president has made it clear that he stands ready to sign a reauthorization of the federal assault weapons ban if it is sent to him by Congress. I, of course, support the president on this issue."

Maybe the flu I am suffering from is making me a bit slow, but what am I missing here?

First, my comment was a pun, a play on words...and not bigoted. Ask anyone here. To assume that would be as silly is if I assumed that you as,a white man..(you stated that)..were bigoted because of your screen handle..the term "mau-mau" is in the lexicon of usuage.liek "niggardly".and you had been engaged in a running argument on the thread, which I had been reading..and I did feel that you were your own worst enemy in that discussion..your argument was NOT cogent, by any means..but I rest my case..your "loose cannon" comments only proved my point..regards..
