US GI hostage story and photo faked; MSM falls for it--again
Looks like this was a fake, now that we've seen the photo, and kudos are due to A Small Victory, Wizbang and Free Republic for calling it.
It looks like this was a GI Joe-type doll on sale on the internet. Note the face, plus the gun and the fact that you don't see anyone's hands in the photo.
In addition, the Pentagon has verified that no soldiers are missing presently.
Score another one for the new media, as the MSM gets scammed again.

While it did not fool many people it did fool a lot of people - including on FreeRepulic.
Good reminder.
Terri O'Brien, a talk show host on WLS in Chicago, says she is the only person she knows who read the Wall street Journal and the Enquirer.
LOL a friend of mine laughed at that when I told him. He said the terrorists are saying "Stop kicking our @$$es or Barbie gets it."
Technically, they all got it "right," by saying "A picture is on a website that spews Islamic propaganda and official US military sources haven't confirmed authenticity of the website assertions." FoxNews gave essentially that report too.
But to their credit, FoxNews also gave the least equivocal accounting for the story being a hoax. AP and Reuters just quiety remove the false stuff without comment.
Reminds me of a pro-life book, written in the 70s but still very relevant, called "Who Broke The Baby?" The author's child came into her study late at night, and there were abortion photos on the desk. The child looked at them (Mom still didn't know he was there) and asked "Who broke the baby?"
Honest eyes, indeed.
I have an awful admission to make.
When I was a kid, we beheaded more than one action figure.
In fact, I seem to remember blowing several up with M-80's.
We really were little terrorists back then...
Didn't you like your other slippers! :)
Yeah, well "Bert" with Bin Laden wasn't a fake, was it?!
LMAO!!!!
ROFLOL!
