Alan Davis, 49, gained national attention for spreading junk across his front yard, including a giant statue of a human buttock.
Davis accumulated more than 10 year's worth of what officials call junk. He had airplane parts, broken-down cars and fiberglass in his yard. Neighbors have complained about Davis and the piles of junk and rats in his yard for more than 10 years, according to Local 6 News.
Davis, 49, had been placed on house arrest in September after serving nearly a year in prison for illegal dumping and creating and maintaining a public nuisance.
On Monday, a judge sentenced Davis to three years in prison for violations of his house arrest, including failing to return home from work on time and keeping part of a World War II fighter plane in his yard.
"Mr. Davis is marching to the beat of his own drum at all times," the judge said.
Davis, a mechanic and welder, claims he's the victim of a government conspiracy and that he's merely fighting to protect his property rights. He was an artist, he insisted, and the pieces of junk were his supplies.
But neighbors and officials said Davis' lawn is an eyesore and he's flaunted the law for years. Once, when a judge ordered him to move the trash, he put it on his roof.
Monday, the Department of Corrections said Davis violated his probation when he failed to return home at the time designated by his probation officer on two separate occasions.
"I sent him a message though the monitoring company to go home now," Department of Corrections official Lisa Farr said in court. "I then called his residence. He had a voice privacy thing. His wife answered and she said at that time that she didn't know where he was at, but she would find him."
In the hallway outside the courtroom, his wife, Aileen Davis, said, "This is crazy. This is a victimless crime."

Was it only one buttock? I thought they came in pairs.
I read here and there about people who own land patent property. They really own it and it is not taxed. However, the catch is that the land cannot be used as collateral for loans. Reason is, it cannot be seized, so it cannot be acquired by a lender in case of load default. I have read where developers are trying to get land patent property away from the owners, how, I don't know. Also, there isn't supposed to be any land patent property in the original 13 colonies, only west of some line. I don't know much about it. But it is interesting.
Sounds good to me.
Here in Jacksonville a homeless man won a case that has made the 'ban on public drinking' null and void as I understand it. Amazing that ruling came just before we have all these visitors in town for the Superbowl.
good point
Ewwww. Oh, you meant car-body parts.
I would be thrilled to own the land that I presently live on. And, being in Colorado, I'm probably west of whatever line you're talking about.
By the way, why can't patent land be seized, like any other property can be?
Oooo. I didn't catch the 1935 Plymouth Coupe/serial killer fetish. I'll be more careful next time.
I don't know. Some operation of the law. Sorry I'm not much help.
Might suggest you discuss the matter with bureau of land management. I once read it is with them that the land patents are registered. It may not be as simple as asking them if you can patent your land. If you go and ask they may laugh at you and then you'll be mad at me. I'm just repeating what I read somewhere. Do your own due dilligence.
He lives about 6 blocks from me, sometime I'm going to go by and take pictures of the place.
Good thing for the women in our lives. Many men would probably end up like this after a few years (buying pork and beans by the case and collecting junk).
Interesting that he is married.
The man should have gotten a degree in archeology or anthropology. Then secured a grant to study his junk. Then instead of going to jail, he would've been celebrated in peer review magazines.
Drip, drip. The erosion continues.
I couldn't take 3 years of someone's life because they have junk in their yard.
He is losing 3 years of his life because he refused to conform to a Judge. Judges will have none of that.
Of course someone should have put a stop to all of this well before this step.
How does one grow up in Orlando.
I would have to stay a kid and go to an amusement park every day!
